Republicans openly admitting to cheating

damn, I’m a new thread posting machine…

there have been roughly 12 cases of voter fraud in the nation in the last ten years. Why do we need voter id laws again?? oh yeah…

I don’t understand how this has anything to do with cheating. Admittedly, I don’t know all the details of the Voter ID act, but I do think people’s ID’s should be verified to vote. How is making sure people are who they say they are and that they meet legal requirements to vote cheating?

Other than the “it’s just not needed” argument (which I can totally get behind), can you please give me a short summary of why this is supposedly (I’ve heard it suggested by others too, not just you) some unfair ploy by the conservatives?

Because when you bend the rules to give your side an unfair advantage that’s called cheating.

but I do think people’s ID’s should be verified to vote.

How many illegals do you know lining up to vote? What does a photo ID prove? Anybody who has had a fake ID knows it proves nothing.

All it does is serve to keep people who most likely are not going to vote republican from voting.

There is no way to verify people are who they say they are… And secondly it was never a legal requirement before so why now? Jim crow much?

That’s enough of a solid argument right there but to expand on that. the elderly, the minority, the poor and the young are all likely to not have ID and if they do it may not line up specifically with their current address because the young, the elderly, the poor and minorities tend to be nomadic. They also tend to vote democrat and since there is no problem with voter fraud the only reason the require voter ID is to keep those that are likely not to vote for you from voting.

What say you?

Are you implying that the new law requires a voter’s ID to have his/her current address on it? Because if so, then yeah, this is a stupid law which would actually prohibit ME from voting.

Stop turning this forum into a pro Democratic rally, grmpy.

And the next time yr ball lands on my lawn, y’aint gettin it back.

Implying? no straight out saying that’s one of the requirements.

The most voter fraud comes from absentee ballots… guess who generally votes by way of absentee ballots… republicans.
oh the sick irony.

Why is discussing facts a pro democratic rally? oh that’s right cause disinformation and information suppression/distortion are republican agendas. so by contrast anything opposite must be a democratic strategy.

Voter ID laws are solving a problem that doesn’t exist.
