The Dead Milkmen catalog needs a bump

Scorn- Colossus
I’ve never heard this one. What’s the deal on it? Worth a listen?
I really like Gyral and Logghi Barogghi.
Loveless was recently remastered…
I don’t think so. Not to my knowledge.

Colossus is the one before he dropped the vocalist but after they dropped all the metal elements, right?
If so, it’s good.

Kinda, I think you’re thinking of Evanescence, which was the record after Colossus. Evanescence was the last Scorn record with Nick Bullen and with vocals.
Colossus is the middle grounds album between their Vae Solis sound and Evanescense sound. You hear the dreamy dub and atmospheric sounds coming into play, but the beats are slightly more industrial sounding. Alot of film samples, and the singing is much more subdued and distorted as opposed to the Godflesh-like sounding vox on their first record. Check out the track “Scorpionic” , it’s a really good one from the album.
I’d HIGHLY recommend the Nick Bullen/Bill Laswell split from 95, it was right after Nick left Scorn and it two (long) tracks of awesomeness.
If you like Gyral or Evanescence, check out the Nick Bullen/Laswell split and Colossus.

Ah yes, that’s the one.
I liked the remix album for it even better.
Was a huge ‘Scorn Head’ in the late '90s. Guests would constantly ask me ‘what’s this playing?’ whenever they would visit - and the answer would generally be ‘Scorn!’.
‘Scorn? Never heard of them. Sounds like Chemical Brothers on valium.’
Yeah. Um, they pretty much peaked with Logghi Barogghi but the raritiies disc ‘Anamnesis’ is also top notch if you can find it.
And yeah, a reissue is long overdue but probably highly unlikely.
Apparently Mick Harris was a bit of a nut - would start screaming his head off at the drop of a hat. I think he spent a short time in a mental hospital ‘sorting things out’ after apparently attacking a shopkeeper or something.
Anyone know anything about this?
I’ve not heard of that story. Do you know when that happened? I’m thinking around the turn of this decade, as there was a fair amount of gap time between releases.
I’ve spoken to him numerous times over the net, very very nice guy actually. I even ordered a Lull 3" cd from him.
I’m very much of a fan of the latest Scorn and am excited about the new release coming out. Was listening to his “Weakener” project tonight too, another one you may like.
I’m more a Lull guy myself though. Moments is my favorite album of all time, Like a Slow River my favorite album of last year and in top 6 of all time and Collected is probably in my top 5 of all time as well.
Clock DVA - Buried Dreams
My copy is a cassette dub from vinyl, transferred to computer, dubbed to cd, then loaded onto an iPod. And it sounds like ass.
They did a remaster/reissue 11 years ago, but that’s going for $35 used on Amazon.
Still waiting for The Cure’s ‘Wish’ and ‘Disintegration’ to be reissued/repackaged. Hopefully this year…?

ditto! lets hope he does a “in orange” DVD as well.
