Last night I put some almond milk, a big spoonful of canned pumpkin, two scoops of slow churned vanilla bean ice cream, and some sprinkles of cinnamon and nutmeg in a blender.
Okay, here comes another wicked awesome recipe for the sweet-toothed muhfuhs. This recipe came from my grandma, was always my favorite as a kid- apparently she got it off of a Jello box or something, but people are always amazed when I show up with one of these babies. Seriously, people freak out about it.
mix it all up, pour into 13x9 pan, press down into an even layer, bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. Let cool.
Layer #2
1 8 oz package of cream cheese
1 8 oz tub of cool whip
1 cup of sugar
beat well with mixer until smooth. spread evenly over first layer.
Layer # 3
2 3 oz packages of strawberry Jello (or one 6 oz package)
2 cups boiling water
20 oz. frozen strawberries, sliced
Mix boiling water and Jello until the powder is all dissolved. This is less water than making regular Jello (the strawberries make up for it). Stir in frozen sliced strawberries. Stick in fridge for a few minutes so that it starts to set up (the frozen strawberries go a long way in cooling down the boiling liquid, so don’t put it in the fridge too long). When it’s cooled a bit and starting to set up, spread over the other two layers and let chill in fridge overnight.
Variations:
I’ve made two other versions of this, one with Berry Blue Jello and frozen mixed berries, and a Peach Melba one with Peach Jello and frozen peaches and raspberries. Both of them were awesome.
I’m afraid I threw the bottle in the recycle bin already. If I can remember, I’ll look in there next time I’m outside.
I only had a sip, since it was intended for the bread, but it was a pretty good sip.
Shit. Sorry to hear that, Rev. I’ve had some loaves not turn out well before. All I can say is be careful with the flour (sift), and you may need to adjust the time/temp due to your oven. I’d try it a few more times with cheap beer until you get the hang of it. It will pretty much always have kind of a harder crusty outside, but usually it’s cuttable and not too thick of a hard layer.
Wasn’t a Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, was it? That’s a yummy beer.
