u should have mentioned you were going to the detroit show, i would have liked to have met the infamous jizzwad. you from this area?
who is Neil Peart?
who is Neil Peart?
RUSH
The guy is called Danny Walker and his band is Intronaut:

He was/is also in Uphill Battle, Exhumed, Phobia…:

He’s only supposed to fill in as replacement for the US dates. Ted is still the official drummer. And having seen Jesu live with Ted (and Diarmuid) last year I can tell even if he’s not 20 anymore since a long time he’s still highly impressive on drums.

i called early and got jesu’s start time so i showed up right before the opening band finished. was right up front standing on the left side of the stage in front of the bassist for jesu and the first half of isis. left early as isis wasnt doing it for me. had a fun time walking to the far corner of the parking lot across from the venue on my way out. the topless entertainment club next door seems to draw quite a crowd.
as i went to the show last night and am going to sebadoh tonight i decided to pass on the explosions in the sky gig. i hate driving to detroit. plus i saw eluvium a few years back in buffalo opening for mono. he had a cool video thing going on with his music. i dont think most peopel actually realized someone was performing though. but let me know when u hit detroit shows. although i wish more bands would follow pelican’s lead and play gigs in ann arbor.
well you are at least supposed to hate ann arbor being from columbus. i hate ann arbor so i actually root for ohio state in all the football games and shit. it is great fun as OSU has been killing UM regularly lately and people really get all worked up about it. columbus aint too bad. my brother lives in grove city so i’m down there a bit for blue jacket games.
saw them in chi-town last night. good stuff. heavy as fuck. no vox though. i mean, he was singing, but i could barley hear him. aside front hat sound was all good though. soooo heavy. awesome. merch booth had only medium and girly sizes, too bad because that conquerer shirt was cool. bought the silver ep to legitimize my pirated version. found out they were playing a second date in chicago ion the 23rd, but gonna miss it. same setlist as everyone else has been getting. justin said he was sick as hell.
oh, and afra’s beard IS sexy. trust me on this one. it was great to be there with another godflesh/jesu freak to share in the awesomeocity.
ha thats weird i thought it was only me who noticed how insane jesu’s drummer is live. for the slow droney shit the concert i went to played (Isis, Jesu, & Zozebra) him and justin k. still making that genre of music kickass. isis keeps getting slightly better everytime i see them too.
haha im sorry i failed to mention this wen i saw them april 8th at the henry fonda theater, i just thought someone else wouldve posted a review from that show.
whats also rad was the drummer from jesu was wearing a ministry t-shirt… a twitch album cover shirt too! mad props.
