Re: [jizzwad] Ministry snag Grammy nod

Trent and Maynard…rock…how the mighty have fallen…[:/]

The rest are understandable, but stonesour? The last time I checked they were making a living doing their best Candlebox impersonation.

Trent and Maynard…rock…how the mighty have fallen…[:/]

Eh, Trent won a metal grammy way back in '92.

He won another a few years later for a tune off the Woodstock '94 comp. Dude’s got two metal Grammy’s and I’ve never seen his records in that section in any record store I’ve ever been to. [:P]

ministry should have won with nwo, their best “nod.”
the rest is pretty much meaningless.
who cares about thrash metal meanderings? if ministry were to win, which they won’t, lamb of god would be sitting pretty in a couple months time anyway.they’re a much better band. emphasis on the “band” angle.
speaking of nods, so there’s a new ministry record/last record in the works? is this going to be another compost of the revolving door of musicians who actually still think they can work with al? please.can’t take any more non-challenging “new” music.
a new year ,happy happy to all.

the new album was supposed to be ministry final album and the only double album, 1st cd being the new tired out uninspired boring bush bashing thrash metall wannabee material and 2nd cd would supposedly feature their cover versions of another favourite political rambling cover songs.

apparently, the double album idea got dumped and right now they’re in the studio working on the next album that is due 2007. it seems that alongside al there is tommy victor and paul raven again and actually that dude called ‘sin’ himself posted on pissarmy calling the new album “blazing”, “blistering”, and all that overhyped shit.

so far, the good news is that hopefully new al’s output won’t feature spyderbaby!

overhyped anything is what al’s ever been about.
paul raven. wow. al can’t get better than THAT? ask around. you probably have. so ministry is currently fueled on some sort of 1996 rage against THE MAN. let’s pause now for reflection ,people:
let’s compare:
DAVID THOMAS and MINISTRY
(post paul barker)–david thomas wins.
pre-paul barker–david thomas wins.
ministry with paul barker–draw.
pere ubu live. nobody compares. okay, maybe howard devoto and magazine. ministry live came pretty close to grabbing the torch from pere ubu.
david thomas all sweaty and gross and singing his heart out at tut’s in chicago never won a grammy.
he and ministry never cared, back when.
it’s not about that, the awards.
it’s all about what sounds good and the people you choose to work with.
now getting back to al and paul raven…

What the hell…?

look. it’s all about style.
if you haven’t figured it out by now, duh
david thomas was an art student at some point. who WASN’T? hello? meat meets matter…
