Re: [jizzwad] Al tapped for horror soundtrack.....

Oh wow, Halloweens out? I know it will probably be shit, but I’m still a bit of a Zombie fan.

Apparently he has John5 on guitars now too… recently heard his solo stuff, nice, nothing special, but would go well with zombie I imagine.

Umm anyway, yeah horror movies = good. Where’s Evil Dead 4? [laugh]

Can’t say I was ever a fan of House of a 1000 Corpses. Never saw Devil’s Rejects. Who knows though, he may surprise a few with his remake, but egh…i’m sure i’ll see it eventually. And will there EVER be a fourth evil dead film!? I heard rumors about a remake of the first one, but forgot who they said was supposed to play Ash. I just remember cringing at the thought.

fanboys? like those that swing from justine’s nuts from that shitty, tripe of a band called usej?

I think it was the guy that played Stifler in American Pie supposed to be Ash… BAD MOVE if they do remake it.
That guy would make a bad end to a great franchise. WHo knows maybe he could pull it off… who knows, maybe The Last Sucker will go platinum.

what? tapped for horrible soundtrack…i guess my eyesight’s going .
al, if you’re listening, do you even know what’s going on? or are you like bush, letting everyone else fill in the details?

If Rob Zombie were anyone other than Rob Zombie, people would have quickly realized how horrible House of a 1000 and Devils Rejects were. Those films rode off the fact that the director/writer was a rock star.

Now, Halloween, my guess is that again, if Rob were anyone other than Rob, he would have never been tapped to direct it.

let’s wait for the big opening.the ads are everywhere here. why why why…more regurgitation…
nobody in hollowood wants to pay the WRITERS to produce original content. easier to do a sucky sequel. maybe i’m wrong about this.

House of 1000 corpses is very very weak, I can believe that the Halloween remake is shit, by I really enjoyed Devil’s reject. I think it’s a very good movie, Rob Zombie or not.

If it weren’t for the fact I saw the movie in the hood and it had great participation from the audience, I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed this movie.

spoilers
“that nia ain’t afraid of no cops! " (in reference to Michael)
“RUN BITCH, RUN”
sex scene man in film: “oops, sorry I finished early” (or something to that effect) a little CHILD in the audience behind me: "what did he do? " (assuming it’s the mother) "DAT NI
A CAME EARLY”

needles to say, that was just a few examples. stuff like that was happening all movie.
I’m just not crazy for the shakey camera/dark colored film print/ fast cuts that so many modern horror films go for. to me, that doesn’t scare me or bring me into the film. it actually takes me out of the film. again, it’s just a personal asthetic thing.
I thought the dialog was poorly written, I thought there were some unecessary scenes. I can’t argue about Zombie’s choices of re-arranging things since this is a “reimaging” of it rather than a “remake” , but there were some things I didn’t necessarily think were necessary on that end.

it’s essentially the complete opposite of the original! I guess non-fans of the original may enjoy this, I don’t know how well it will go over with big-time fans of the original.

Yeah I cringe at the thought of the “industrial rock” spin Rob will probably spew all over Carpenter’s original eerie score. Not to mention what he’s done to his movie.

rob zombie. made his career from looking at someone else and stealing the look.nice stealth operation.

ok ok i’m not the biggest rob zombie fan in the world, but please don’t say he took al’s “look”… if you want, take a look at their soul crusher album:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soul-Crusher

meanwhile at the time al was sporting the skinhead with bronx cabbie hat look…

he totally ripped off al’s “thing”.

he totally ripped off al’s “thing”.

How? I also never understood this claim. Or were you being sarcastic? Damn internet! [laugh]

Rob definitely had that ‘look’ before Al and I dont really think they are particularly similar musically (well, maybe Hellbilly Deluxe is a little Ministry-influenced) but otherwise Zombie always had his own sound. Lets not forget that White Zombie started off as a (pretty good) noise rock band.

i was being serious…
i always though AL had the dreds + hat thing before him. also his music always reminded my a of a ministry feel with a little dab of TKK.

Al had a nice quip about that.
He said in Austin people leave him alone, but in Chicago he goes down the street and people stop and say “Hey! It’s Rob Zombie!”

just saw Robocop tonight for the first time for 10 years. the most violent movie I’ve ever seen. pure 80s. fantastic.

and it was nice to ear Show me your spine now that I know who was behind this track hé hé

lol fuck yeah that movie rocked. yeh i remember seeing it before i was into ministry and whatnot and being like, “this is a fucking weird club song! the 80s mustve been crazy.”

turns out… they were indeed crazy. thatd be funny if PTP was on that “reuniting those 80s bands” show.

the sneak previews of robocop in chicago were starstudded and funny.
