I recently won this CD through an on-line contest. I think I found out about it on Prongs. Anyhow, it has been the most satisfying Ministry release I have heard in a long time. Playing it constantly in my car, with the volume way way up. Haven’t done that in a long time.

What did you have to do to win it? Don’t tell me…

Great remixes and live tracks. Kudos to Al.
Hate to sound jaded and cynical, but I really couldn’t disagree more. Generally when a release comes along that I dislike, I will merely let the damn thing slide - but this flimsy attempt at a cash-in is sooo ‘un-Ministry’, so unrepenting in it’s ugliness that I find it difficult to let by-gones be by-gones.
Months ago, it was generally accepted on this site that Rantology was a complete and utter waste of time, adding up to little more than a diss in the face of long time fans. Al seems to value a cash grab more than he does artist integrity - something which I never thought I could fault him with.
Hell, I even stick up for Al when talk turns to the ‘queer sympathising’ of his earlier works. But this?? No, I’m afraid I can’t go down that path, buddy. I don’t know if by posting this message you mean to stir up trouble amongst the prongs crowd, but I suggest you tone down the Rantology hard on you have there or face an all out war.
If you listen to the interview on Opie and Anthony, you’ll notice Al doesn’t seem all that impressed with Rantology. Hell, it even seems like he forgot about it for a minute! I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say this was more about the record company than anything else. Especially if Al has already left Sanctuary, as it appears he will - they have to make a buck off of him somehow. And if this dude likes it, let 'em. We can always go listen to “Rape and Honey” in a different room. Or, rather, a different building. Far away.

Damn… I guess I got my doors blown off. I somehow get the sense you didn’t like this release. What ministry release gave you your biggest hard-on recently?
I believe “Word” would be appropriate to that. As for Rantology, it’s true most of us are disappointed, but I’d still rather listen to “bad” Ministry (is there such a thing?) than anything on the damn radio. Something Corporate, indeed.
