I’ve only seen Ministry twice (99 and 06). When I saw them in '06 the guitars were played so loud I could hardly enjoy the show, in fact I really didn’t that much b/c they played from HOTM and RGB almost exclusively. I’m going to see them again for this tour and was wondering if they mostly play this loud all of the time, or was it for the Masterbatour or was it just where I saw them? I mean this actually hurt my ears and they rang for days. I really hope it’s not that loud and that they play lots of older material. Also looking forward to seeing Meshuggah again.
From what I have read, that tour was mixed pretty shitty. I dunno what to tell you, besides don’t stay in the pit and wear earplugs. You might enjoy it more.
Earplugs. For the sake of your long-term hearing, wear 'em.
Yeah, the last tour was WAY too loud.
Not nearly as bad as Atari Teenage Riot, but pretty bad.

I went to ACDC In 2001 (mainly to see Slash’s Snakepit who opened) and My ears Rang for about 8-9 days afterward No joke I couldn’t even sleep the ringing was so bad. So I took a lesson from that and I have worn earplugs, ever since, to shows. But I KNOW Ministry was LOUD last tour because I wore earplugs and at the end of the concert my ears Still had a little ring to them. Granted I was at the front of the stage next to the P.A. but still the fact that that the sound could penetrate the plugs and give me a slight buzzing in my ear was just incredible to me. I was thankfull for bringing the plugs And i will bring them again this tour. I can suggest you do the same.

Oh “mainly to…blah blah blah…!”
Admit it - you like ACDC.
No shame in liking AC/DC.
Liking Slash’s Snakepit on the other hand…
They were by far the loudest at the festival Ive seen them. I tried earplugs but they distort the sound too much and take away from enjoying the show. Maybe they were just shitty earplugs though, I hear you can get personally molded ones for about 120 $. Maybe its worth investing in them considering I tend to go to a lot of loud shows.
For me, Ministry has been way too loud since '99. Do we really need to be smacked in the face with a deafening wall of guitar noise? Maybe it’s the venue, or maybe Al’s just asking for these maddening levels of sound. The Mind tour had 2-3 guitarists on stage, yet I was able to hear those songs fine at the time. I’ll definitely be skipping the openers on this tour, just to spare my ears for Ministry’s set. Wearing earplugs is such a drag, but it’s the only way I’ll survive this show.

tinnitus…lol. maybe it’s also the reason for owerpowering high frequencies since filth pig :))
In Chris’s book he writes that Al ALWAYS turned all the amps all the way up. So - either he was already deaf back then or the amps are just capable of making more noise nowadays
I wouldn’t count on the old stuff.
Al MIGHT throw out a “Stigmata” or a “Just One Fix,” but that’s about all you can expect.
Speaking of which, there was talk on the boards about “We Believe” being played on the Fornicatour. If anyone could hook me up with a link/torrent to that, that would be superlatively great.

the sound sux though. this is almost exact as the 86-88 live version, just with some guitar powerchords thrown it.
i love the reaction caught on tape - “hooooly shit, dude!!!”
gila
YOU FUCKING RULE.
credits to the original taper and of course bisquitodoom, who put it up as song of the week some long time ago.
Rev Skarekroe and Peligro
HA HA! Really I like Slash way better than ACDC that Guy is the reason I play the guitar today. But your right, overall, Peligro I do like ACDC(thunderstruck was my first formal Intro to ACDC and then all the older ones i knew [but didn’t know was ACDC]fell into place Big balls Back in black Etc) But I wouldn’t have been at the show Had not slash been there.
there is no shame in like the Snake pit! or Velvet Revolver for that matter (However I have to admit I do like the Snakepit way better than VR I think Musically it’s better)

Sure, Slash is a good guitar player. But Snakepit is instantly forgettable, imo.

Really? why? I know the singer (eric dover?) definately was out of place and the lyrics were very crappy but the melodies and the rhythms were great. I learned to tune the singer out. The second album the singer was better but the music wasn’t as good. Oh well, to each his own.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I’ll be buying some earplugs. As for not playing any older stuff, I thought the press release for this tour said that it would span the entire Ministry career.
Yes, the entire Ministry career from 1992-2008.
Yeah…Crumbs live baby! I don’t think we will hear anything surprising. Whatever Al has played from 1992 on will be the choices to select from…god I’m hoping for a few different tunes.
