prongs.org/ministry updates

I just updated the sound download page so that you can listen to the samples first:

http://prongs.org/ministry/sound

I’ve always liked that way better. You can still download the song.

More updates will come.

now for something completely different. [tongue]

Afra. Call me if you’re bored. [cool]

What is this “Freaking Me Out” mp3 supposed to be?
I can’t get it to play.

oops…that True Pseudo mp3 was a test…I accidentally left it up. Sorry.

I saw it was a Designer Drugs remix (who I love) but didn’t have time to check it out. What was it Afra? You’ve done a great job of turning me onto some great new club music.

It’s back up (I have to test some more anyhow - some people are saying they couldn’t download it). Let me know when you’ve got it (through here).

Speaking of which, what are you listening to nowadays as far as electro dance?

Thanks

Sweet, I like this track, thanks Afra (btw, it downloaded fine).

People I like right now are Fred Falke, Designer Drugs, The Twelves, Alex Metric, Lifelike, Sneaky Soundsystem, TEPR (a lot of these I follow more closely as remixers than original artists). I was looking forward to La Roux but it wasn’t quite what I was hoping it would be. Dragonette is fun eletropop. That’s what I can think of right now, outside of the straight up pop stuff that I have a secret love for (Gaga, et al). Not much EBM/industrial at the moment, though the new Rabia Sorda is a pretty cool mix of modern electro/dance and industrial. Who should I check out?

What you listed is what I’ve been into lately as well. La Roux I wasn’t too much into either - I’ve been in the mood for bangers lately. The Twelves are cool guys - I saw them a few months ago and they knew how to spin. Le Castle Vania does some decent bangers as do Designer Drugs as you know. Savoy as well. I think you will really like Savoy.

Do you like Motor? They have an old school industrial feel to them (their releases such as Unhuman and Death Rave) - very good beats.

Edit: Nothing like Likelike remixes - they do a very good job at those.

Mmm, Savoy - going to check that out post haste!

Motor’s really good. I got their second album on your suggestion a few years back (I’d already had and enjoyed the first) and love it. It manages to avoid most the traps of modern industrial while playing to the strengths of the genre. Of course, because of this, you’ll never hear it at an industrial club!

Another act I really enjoy especially when in the background is Gui Boratto, haling from Brazil. It’s not electro or bangers but it’s very good I think:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZiCvGFnpJ4 - this one builds up into a really good solid tune

Call me gay but I like the new Shiny Toy Guns remix album

you’re gay [sly] no, actually there lead key guy is from here (tulsa,ok) and is a fellow keyboardist we did a bunch of of high school partying back in the day

I’ve hung out with him - he’s a really decent guy.

“Freaking Me Out” pisses me off at how infectious it is. I HATE music like this, yet I’ve been streaming it over the past few days while bangin’ out a few papers. What the hell is wrong with me?

Also, this apparently is NOT an mp3. Least that’s what my machine’s telling me when I DL it and then play it.

I consider that a win for Afra. No sarcasm. I love/loathe this track.

I don’t know - it’s not mindless repetitive house you know? It has a good synth line, melody and some vocals. You probably like that dirty bass synth line.

Have you heard Justice? It can get that dirty too with some good hooks.

Do check out some MOTOR:

It IS that nasty bassline that has my brain all ridiculous and whatnot.

Grr.

Checkin’ it out…

It’s okay to like other styles of music - haha! It’s not like cheesy house…

I’m curios to know what you think of this banger:

and this:

No dirty bass lines but energetic

HEY.

I like cheesy house.

“Unhuman” is more grating than anything else. I just can’t… GET most of this stuff, you know? I like dancy stuff, but I dunno… Maybe old-school drum machines and synths combined with ultra-clean production isn’t a good mix. (That’s what this stuff all sounds like, anyway.)

“Go Back” is decent for an italo-disco throwback. When the song gets heavy and massively overdriven, I approve. Everything else is… well, I kinda covered that already.

Dunno, man. Not enough RAGE, I guess.

[laugh]

Thanks for the exposure, though!

I’m sorry, but that album cover is fucking hilarious and cracks me up every time I look at it.
