Promoting Cover Up

Since Ministry is using their final encore ever to promote a cover album, why not play Supernaut and Lay Lady Lay? Both those songs are on Cover Up and would have been promoting the album. This would have made the set list considerably better (still not great or what was promised).

Also, I’m really surprised they aren’t playing both End of Days songs. I was sure they would end the set or one of the encores with both songs back to back and the entire speech at the end of part 2. Those two songs are actually the only songs I cared to hear from the Last Sucker.

filthpig was the “beginning of the end” for me with ministry. i liked what he was trying to do with some of the ladder stuff… the heroin indused metal wore me out and the later GW bashing got old. i was trying to think “lard” on some of the latest albums - but it just didn’t work for me. yes - i like lard. sue me. [:)]

With the exception of LORAH, I always felt that Filth Pig was the greatest thing Ministry ever did.

Who doesn’t like LARD!! that band is fuckin GREAT! Ministry with Jello on Vox? Fantabulous!

Let me just fix this for you…

lol. ok guys - i’ll pull it back out - give it another go.

I felt the same way about Filth Pig, didn’t care for it. I saw Ministry in 1999 and the songs grabbed me live.

So I gave it another listen and pow, as a whole its the best album they’ve done.

I think DSOTS with the best tracks of Filth Pig would have been great.

Word up. I totally think that tracks like “Crumbs” and “The Fall” would have meshed PERFECTLY with the entirety of DSOTS.

Filth Pig and DTOTS are my favorites and I love everything before those albums. I didn’t like Dark Side when I first listened to it but later I gave it more of a chance and I loved it.

It’s crazy they could span so many genres and be great at all of them. That’s why I understood and didn’t mind that Ministry became a thrash band at the end. I just hated the Bush Trilogy and the silly album names. Isn’t one album (HOTM) good enough? That album wasn’t that bad. If these last two albums wouldn’t have stupid lyrics and covers I could like them a lot more, although I would have preferred they went out with an album that was more diverse.

Yep, listened to Filth Pig again straight through yesterday. Still my favorite album. It ends stronger than it starts. Ministry is usually the opposite.

Brick Windows… oh yes.
