I’m not sure I’d go so far as to say it as better than the Ministry records, but it’s certainly worth a listen if you’re not familiar with them. I’d suggest tracking down a copy of the Lost Souls Club 12". The best tracks are there, plus it contains the full version of Everglades which was edited on the History In Reverse CD.
History In Reverse is a compilation of all their singles and the famous Lost Soul’s Club ep that was produced by Al and released on Wax Trax.
Here it is on ebay.

But if you just wanna stream it first, search Blackouts on Myspace Music. I liked it. Here’s my favorite song by them. Off of side 1 of Lost Soul’s Club
I really like the Blackouts, I plan on getting their catalog sometime.
If I’m not mistaken, his involvement with the Blackouts is how he met Rieflin and the Barkers.
I wouldn’t say it’s better than the first 2 Ministry LPs. Different and just as important, yes.
Listen to the first bars of “Idiot” and try not shouting the lyrics to “Man Should Surrender”, I triple dawg dare you
I wouldn’t compare it to either With Sympathy or Twitch as the sound on those records doesn’t reflect the post-punk influences Bill and Paul carried over from this band.

I’ve never had that problem.
