Polar Vortex

Fuck that thing. It needs to stay over Canada where it belongs. 12 inches of snow followed by -15F and hurricane like winds. Wind Chill -45F. Brr…

Suppose be 11F tomorrow the high!..in NY

High of about 0 tomorrow. Fortunately the low is also about 0.

Wouldn’t they call that the mode?

high of about 70 degrees here sunny so cal.
Sorry fellas!

An elderly man was found dead from the cold in Christian County, Ill., just a few feet from safety, the sheriff’s office said. The man tried to walk home after his car broke down about a mile away; his body was found in his driveway Monday morning. His identity wasn’t immediately released.

heartbreaking

[:(]

It was 85 degrees here in Miami today…supposed to drop significantly over night though…but only for a day or so…I do not envy people in other parts of the country…

I’ve done my time in cold places and have desire to go back. My heart goes out to you all!

This morning before I left for work, I tried one of those cold weather experiments where you take a cup of water and fling the contents. I can definitely say it froze on the way to the ground. My own mini snow machine. Brrr.

Fucken hell.

You guys need to come live in Australia - seriously. Where I’m from (Melbourne) it is considered to be “cold” when it gets down to 10 degrees Celsius (or 50 degrees Fahrenheit).

And that’s REALLY cold. A typical winter’s day here would be around low 60’s (Fahrenheit).

It NEVER snows here. Well…some suburbs a little higher up in the Dandenong mountains get some snow. But that’s about an hours drive from where I live.

The worst thing that happens here is that your car windshield has frosted over during the night and it takes you two or three minutes of driving around slowly with the heater on before it clears. That’s the worst thing.

But then again we have to put up with ridiculous heat. And I do mean ridiculous. We’re talking temperatures of around 43 degrees C (or 110 F).

It’s gets hot enough to soften the asphalt on the roads.

Hot!

We also have big ass spiders and shit so…

@grmps. In order to be the mode, you need at least 3 data points.

Stupid Math!! [pirate]

That’s all Southern California… Minus the spiders.
Late,

It was 36 deg, windy, grey skies, and damp here in Florida this morning. It reminded me of London without the rain.

On Christmas Eve morning, when we went out for coffee in northern Minnesota. It was -30 to -25. That’s temp, not wind chill. At -40, take a cup of boiling water and toss it into the outside air; it will be snow flakes before it hits the ground. Food is freeze dried at -40.

I am shocked to hear about the cold weather in the Midwest. Especially in January! Growing up there, I remember it being so lovely this time of year.

It’s going to hit the 20s down here tonight, and tomorrow. Then after that, I think it goes back to the 70s… Louisiana has the most random weather. In a way, we only have two seasons, summer and winter. Spring lasts for about a month before it starts getting hot. Same goes for Fall, with winter, more or less, beginning in october. But, lately, we’ll get the odd warm day now (thank you climate change).

I really do miss living in california when it comes down to weather.

It’s been 9F for like 18 hours now.

Does the water in your toilet bowl freeze? That is insane.

I have never seen snow… but I’m always complaining about cold weather.

On the other hand we’re having this Hercules storm and the sea is going mad.
