Plant & Krauss

Ach. Just picked up Raising Sand today at FYE.

What a marvelous album. Hearing Ms. Krauss and Mr. Plant is like walking through a long hollow and feeling the first drops of October rain on your neck. Oneiric. As comforting as the aroma of an apple pie sitting on a window sill.

Bob is good too. Real good.

Plus a Waits ( Trampled Rose ) cover! Who could ask for more?

Jesu fans take note.

Wow, this release should be interesting. Both artists have great unmistakable voices. I’m interested in the Townes Van Zandt song.

Nobody ever really talks about good country artists on this forum, do they? Tis a shame…

Whatever… Are you going to tell me that Hank Williams and Merle Haggard aren’t great artists? Besides, someone like Billy Joe Shaver who is country is way more of a bad ass than for example, say… Al Jourgensen. George Jones could have drank Al under the table in his time.

Like any genre of music, most of it sucks but the cream of the crop is worth sifting out.

Speaking of country, Al’s industrial butt-rock sounds more and more to me like a lame horse that needs to be taken out back and alleviated from it’s misery. Al is the left-wing Toby Keith.

couldnt have said it better myself…

well, for one thing, Al supposedly really loves country.

oooh, watch out, people with throw up the prongs chewbacca defense, which is of course to state that this isn’t a ministry forum

not sure if its considered country but i really dig Bruce Springsteen’s “Nebraska”…

so yeah, admitting to being a Springsteen fan is suicide but I dont give a flying fuck

LOL - awesome.
now THAT’s rock and roll kids!

John Coltrane and Miles Davis are great musicians, but I’m not going to start a bunch of jazz threads here. [:/]

Country discussion on prongs? Please, noooooooooooo!

That being said, I also like Nebraska, and some selected Bruce. New album is pretty good, too.

1002

As far as country is concerned I’m a Junior Brown man, m’self. That feller sure has chops, pard.

Same here. Junior Brown, Alison Krauss, Cash, Faron Young, Hank Williams, George Jones, Buck Owens, Flying Burrito Brothers…all on my iPod.

Sheesh. You guys are tighter than a Cannibal Corpse forum. Just wait till I start my Karen Carpenter + Johnny Mathis appreciation thread.

I’d skip lunch to read that.
