PissArmy log-in/ Civil Democracy

The woman seems so …white trash groupie living her dream.

Always making ugly comments, drama, mishandling Al’s PR…

Apparently a bunch of the nerds who were kicked off the PA started their own group on Facebook and they’re all pissed off now that they’ve been abandoned and betrayed by their idols.

oh come now, al would never rip off a fan…

Of course he wouldn’t! That setlist for the C U LaTour was totally heartfelt afterall. Al’s not all about the money, nor would be ever lie or cheat anybody. Ever!

That’s true. With Al, it’s always Christmas time.

Huh?

“the domain registration www.pissarmy.com was controlled by a Ministry fan (if you can call him that)” - let’s put it this way: I am as much as a current Ministry fan as some people are professional

on a not so related topic…
how does someone flat out not pay people for touring? especially with 3 brand new cars in their drive way?
do you think this might be called making something out of nothing?
just curious.
hypothetically … it is easy to say its always xmas if someone else is always flipping the bill and doing all the work. right?
i just think someone should sell a car or 2 out the the 5 vechiles and start paying people that have worked hard for them. thats just my feelings.

Let me see if I get what you’re driving at… (HAHA that was punny) sin josh and claytong were not paid for their work? if so that’s quite fucked up! is that why sin left?
Late,

oooh i’ll answer this one if that’s who he’s knudging us toward. if your tour makes absolutely no money and barely fills minimal capacity even in the “larger” markets then yeah you don’t get paid. It actually happens alot in the industry.
shit even people with #1 albums can’t tour. even wonder why snoop dogg and lil wayne barely do live shows? and when they do it’s small small club and college tours? aside from like lady gaga and pink you won’t see people forking over money to see most of the flash in the pan artists of the minute. good luck getting arctic monkeys to fill a small ballroom. even wonder why some artists only play shows like those jungleball z100 shows? livenation is fucked once all these old timers give in cause nobody of the new crop is moving up to arena level. I mean youngest “rock” band that I can think of that does arena tours is like chilli peppers and foo fighters… guys in their 40s. trent retired from touring so he’s out and he’s in his 40’s now. weirdly unless you hit into the country market you won’t be seeing many young artists filling large venues without help of at least one or 2 big names on the bill.

When they played here, they were booked into a 1500 person venue when they have an option of several venues that are 500 people or less that I have personally seen packed with ticket holders/pay-at-the-doors during no-radio-play-acts. Thus, I’m going to distribute responsibility on the management, promoter, and the booking agents for having delusions of grandeur between them. Who do they think they are, Slayer or Rob Zombie? Both of them sold out the 1500-person HOB here in town; and to the best of my knowledge, Ministry didn’t even sell 1500 in '04, '06, or '08. In comparison, NIN sold a 10k venue here in town and NIN|JA sold a 20k venue in Tampa.

A local promoter I know told me he passed on RevCo because they wanted some huge guarantee, so he passed. RevCo’s tour guy was posting here for awhile, and he said that wasn’t true, but I’m inclined to believe the promoter.

Revco only toured ONCE in support of that last album. If you’re going to release an album that’s a bit under the radar, and a tour that’s also a bit under the radar. You’ll need to play a few tours/legs. One tour just isn’t going to cut it for you. Even bands like NIN, tool, or whomever else; they toured for the initial release, then they took a break for a few months, went back out there and did it again. Just touring once for some bands just isn’t grand idea, if you ask me.

I wish this thread was re-titled: ‘PissArmy lock down/Chinese Democracy’

well for all intents and purposes it was basically a headlining tour for a new band without an audience yet. sure there were the old revolting cocks fans and the ministry fans, but it wasn’t a priority. They should have opened for another band. that’s how youbuild a following. I mean did they even have ANY radio play at all? not that radioplay = people going to shows, but even like radio promotions. letting people know the bands coming to town

It was advertised on the radio a couple of weeks in advance and in the club itself during other shows months in advance.

well, if you go into work and your boss tells you “we didnt advertise our new unknown product this month. we didnt make any money on it so all of your hard work doesnt mean anything so we are not going to pay you.”
at the same time your being told that…you see 3 new cars that match what price for paying people to do that work.
please keep your original rational so you can think it is fair.
it comes down to an owner of a business responsibility to take care of his/her workers for all that they do.
black and white/cut and dry.

What label head/studio head will personally pay an artist for a failed tour out of his own pocket? Yeah it sucks but it’s life.

They should have put them on a package tour with Lords of Acid or Electric Six or somebody.
Jim Rose wasn’t a bad idea for an opener, but they’d toured just a couple of months before then, so it’s not like folks were excited to see 'em.

agreed. I think thrill kill was doing a tour around that time right? could have called up martin and seen if a pigface/revco tour could have been put together, also en ensch was touring with slick idiot in random markets. kmfdm was on tour as was skinny puppy… so there were some options available
