PIRATES CHRISTMAS UPDATE After release of “It’s Always Christmas Time”, Uncle Al decided to celebrate the Christmas holidays by congregating with his gang of pirates at 13th Planet. Over the course of two weeks, Jourgensen collaborated with Mike Scaccia (Ministry | RevCo | Rigor Mortis guitarist), Tony Campos (Static X | Ministry CULaTouR bassist), and Mark Thwaite (Mission UK | Peter Murphy guitarist) to write and record material for his upcoming solo project. The vibe was great and the chemistry was even better, making for some great tracks to look forward to. Uncle Al’s “co-producer” Lemmy Jourgensen was joined in the studio by Scaccia’s Bloodhound Zeek.

No idea why Al would have that…
He still thinks he’s a rebel.
He still thinks he’s a rebel.
Keep living the dream…
Al wants to assert state rights and work people without paying them at 13th planet records.

My thoughts exactly! The only bigger symbol of government sponsored oppression is the Nazi flag.

Mikey??? Why??? He must’ve been paid finally…
What is wrong with Al’s face in that photo (where he is being helped to walk)?
It looks completely round.
Moonface Jourgenson??
why no lemmy pics?
as far as the rebel flag, well you ever see those gangs of mexican neo nazi’s? kinda missing the point of the cause they’re supporting
but the flag, i think, more or less evolved from a sign of the confederacy and it’s cause, to just being proud to be from the south…

No no, it is the confederate flag and as Mick said, it stands for states rights… BUT it symbolizes states rights over the individuals, meaning if the state wants to enslave you, it may! that’s why the south seceded cause Lincoln was gonna take their slaves away and they wanted to be able to continue using slave labor.
Kinda sad really, that the south refuses to see that by granting the slave labor “right” they are trampling over the rights of others. although, kinda funny that they would scream “freedom” in an attempt to deny somebody else theirs.
and using it as a symbol for being proud of being from the south is just a silly mindset for whoever would use that… Proud to be from a place that tried to keep other human beings enslaved! Retarded thinking! That’s like saying, “Hey I’m proud of having a racist asshole past!”
As far as Mexicans waving the rebel/confederate flag that just shows you how bad education is failing this country! I usually giggle when I see neo-nazis or KKK guys with brown hair or brown eyes. cause if you don’t have blonde hair and blue eyes you will be filtered out! part of the master race idea. The dumb shits have no idea what they believe!

Besides, Al’s not from the south.
Unless you count the fact that he was born in Cuba, in which case he’s from farther south than most Americans.
The similarities between our industrial metal hillbilly friend and Cleetus from The Simpsons continue to grow as each year passes.
I wonder if they cooked up a big dish of pork and beans and sour mash during the sessions…while listening to Merle Haggard and drinking ripple.
I wouldn’t get too upset over the rebel flag, lots of people down south fly the rebel flag without meaning any racial prejudice behind it.
Anyways, I thought Al was going back to synth-pop with his solo record, but Mikey is good at one thing which is thrash metal soloing, and the guy from static x doesn’t strike me as more metal than synth pop.
I live in louisiana, and not everyone waves it around like it’s nothing, but those who do say it’s “heritage”. Fuck that shit. Heritage, as in slavery and so on? I’m not mr. gung-ho america, but when I see that, the first thing I think of is a flag that signified hate, greed, murder, and stupidity. I might as well have myself a nazi flag because it’s heritage, although it’s really not.
Bottom line, we all know what it represented at the time it was created.

bingo! you said that pretty eloquently in way fewer lines than I could!
It’s the equivalent of a present day German flying the Nazi flag for “heritage.” Doesn’t matter how “you” interpret the flag it’s what it actually means and there is no other way the Rebel flag stands for/means anything other than injustice.

Would this be an appropriate time to start playing the banjo theme music from Deliverance?

Couldn’t hurt.

Just remember the civil war was fought over more than just slavery. The northern states were screwing over the southern states economically while at the same time benefiting from slave labor.
Is it the same as flying a Nazi flag or other symbolism? In my eyes not quite, simply because use of the Nazi symbolism in this day and age only has one intention, and that is to incite fear and racial hatred. You may see the confederate flag as an ugly racist symbol, but that is not always the intention of the person or persons using it. Intention is important. Just look at the difference between manslaughter, 2nd degree and 1st degree murder… unnatural death is the same result in each case but the law see’s them differently based on the [i]intent of the perpetrator.
Also, as ugly as slavery is, genocide just a tad bit more evil, and though the confederate flag is thought of to represent rebellion and racism, the swastika alludes to fascism and genocide. And if you look at it further along this train of thought that couldn’t the traditional stars and bars American flag could be seen as representing genocide based upon the crimes committed against the Native peoples of north America? I wouldn’t doubt if that’s what come to mind to many Native Americans when they see the American flag.
That being said I don’t really support those who fly the rebel flag, I think they ought to pick a different symbol for southern cultural pride, one that isn’t so tainted, I was just saying I wouldn’t jump to conclusions that Al is a racist or anything bases on the flag. For him it’s just another rebellious symbol, like the silly double-anarchy M. Such a silly mid-life crisis for a man of his age to be going through!
