I am a hardcore SMF for life and I will say NO. I don’t think TS had anything to do with the influence/ decision. I do think, though, that the Blues Brothers did have a significant factor. The scene where they play in the tough cowboy bar and sing “Rawhide” behind the fence.

I think, especially since Al fancies himself as a rough and tumble cowboy redneck shitkickin’ badass, that the imagery of this was very appealing. Aside from that, it just fit well with the whole “industrial” post-apocalyptic aesthetic too.

Anyway, the 88-90 Fence was a real iconic and representative symbol of that particular era and I think it was awesome! I actually started the rally to bring BACK the fence for the Last Sucker tour . . . but then totally changed my mind about it when I saw the final results (a sad shadow of what used to be).

You can’t get it back…Atkins sold it off piece by piece[;)]…

Did you really think anything Ministry-related these days would be anything but?

I think this is where Ministry got the idea for the fence.

I don’t think you stepped on anyone’s toes (not sure where you would even imply that), and if in some alternate universe Al happened to say he was inspired by Twisted Sister it would be a huge and joyous day for me.

thanks gunner…

I like the fact that Twisted Sister existed for an entire decade before they put out an album and that Dee Snider didn’t join until 4 years in. Also, they were a total New York Dolls clone at first.
