Pigface

Pigface

anyone here might be able to direct me to a place to find live stuff by these guys.

They put out a live album early on called Welcome To Mexico… Asshole.

plus “Truth Will Out” for CD’s then there’s Martins ever Growing Pulsating Bootleg It Yourself iTunes list of Live albums:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/pigface/id44134173
if you use iTunes…

“Eat Shit You Fucking Redneck” is another one.

The invisible records site is under construction but before you could buy the live show cd’s there. I guess they’ll be there when the site comes back up

“Welcome To Mexico, Asshole” is GREAT!

I was a huge fan of Pigface back in the day.
I recommend anything up through “Notes From The Underground”. After that it seemed things were falling apart. I’ve not really bothered even following anything over the past 15 years.

Man, I haven’t listened to Pigface in years. I’ll have to check and see if I even have their albums anymore.

A few of the tracks after that were good - I remember one with Chris Connelly and another singer called “Insect/Inject” that I liked, but I don’t know what album it was from.

They’ve always been hit or miss.

Good:
Gub - Tailor Made, Little Sisters and Weightless are all I care for at all. And all would be better without the Pigfacing if they’d been released as Lead Into Gold or Connelly solo.
Fook - Almost the whole thing
Notes From The Underground - About half good. Several of the songs that sucked because of production (Steamroller, Empathy, etc) were fixed on the remix album. Between the 2, there’s a really good album worth of material.
New High In Low - This one had 2 disks. You can throw away the one with 3 tracks. The other one is about 75% really good.
Easy Listening - All pretty bad with the possible exception of Insuct/Suspect.
6 - Electric Knives Club, Mercenary, Sanctify and The Giood The Bad And The Drugly were all suprisingly decent.

The remix albums are all pretty disposable. The Live albums are pretty much good, with Welcome To Mexico being the standout.

If you’re looking for live Pigface other than the live albums, there’s a ton on every legit digital music sales platform, of quite varying quality. There’s also quite a bit out there in trading circles. Hit me up if oyou’re really looking for some.

I always liked Connelly’s live versions of “Stowaway” and “Blood and Sand” off of Welcome to Mexico. Their version of T.F.W.O. with Ogre is pretty good too.

I agree. The tracks on “Gub” are for the most part just a little TOO raw and primitive with respect to the warmer, fuller, and more organic sounding live versions on “Mexico”.

Never could get into either Pigface or Revco.
