Was just brought to my attention that the album is out and about. Just gave it a “spin”, and it’s ok. The connelly song was nice (of course), but the rest is meh. 6,6, 7, 11 was ok, but the rest…I dunno. Probably going to give it another listen, but i’m not that impressed. Mind you, i’m not that big of a pigface fan, nor have I ever claimed to be. They’ve always been hit or miss with me, where I usually only like 2 or 3 songs off albums. Only liked maybe 4 songs off Gub, and maybe 3 or so off Fook… So that’s where I come from (don’t expect much from atkin$ usually).
i haven’t heard it. i’m like you i only have the early pigface stuff. i found a site that has the song breakdown. Mary Byker, En esch, Chris… seems to be earlier guys on here.

Samples don’t interest me, which isn’t much of a surprise as I’m not really into Pigface. Pigface is an example of what happens when you give a drummer the keys to the car.
About half of it sounds decent. The first two in particular sound pretty good. The rest really bad. Similar to my feelings about most Pigface I’ve heard.
Then again I’m not one for female singers usually, and about a third of the tracks on any given cd are female sung right?
I hate the cutesy “gothic kitten” voice as I call it. I just want to shove my first through their fucking cunt when they do that.
Holy shit, just looked Pigface up on iTunes and there are 7 pages of releases!!
Yeah, I think Atkins has been putting up literally everything they’ve ever recorded. Most of what you’re seeing is just different takes of the songs that are on the 6 regular albums, and lo-fi live recordings.

That must be messy for Martin to send royalty checks to all those different people involved. [:P]
Think a majority of that stuff are live boots released by atkins. I bought one from 03 with Connelly; good stuff. As always though, the album is a stinker, like the rest (imo), but has it’s few good moments like the rest. Just have to skip and endure to find these gems.
it was wise to put the connelly song first… not to be biased, but his part is the highlight of the album and probably what i remembered most after the first listen…
like most new releases these days, to be listened to a few times and then put on the shelf for a later date.
With all of martin’s talks and seminars on self releasing and the labels no longer being a necessity or really the route to go it’s, odd to see this be the first pigface cd he didn’t put out himself on invisible
martin’s not good with paying other musicians with whom he works. on pigface… name the project.
seems to think he’s above all of that.
wow. that rings a bell.
what the fuck is wrong with getting paid. especially now, when the music industry will maybe, if you’re lucky, pay you to do a remix for 1-5k, depending upon the band, the use (and i won’t say “usage”). everyone and their momma’s out their chasin’ the dollar.
maybe THAT is what makes people like martin so desperate, and so convinced that they can con other artists to help them.
beats me. just flappin’ my jaws.
back to michael jackson and his deal. what a poster boy for excess, and the state of this industry.
Sanctify - is cool…I’m a sucker for Mary Mary.
Electric Knives Club - Chris does a good job with the chorus.
K.M.F.P.F silly song… I like Curse’s screams…she sounds a little like Lucia.
I Hate You In Real Life Too - not very pigface sounding…rockish. Pretty cool track.
Mercenary…I’m hearing // / // & Skold influences.
lol…i guess there’s a chick in there somewhere, maybe not credited.[/reply]
Hanin’s the only female I really notice on there, not sure who the other one is. Her and Chris shine on that album, Esch has his moment on 5,6,7,11. KMFPF is easily forgetable, as is a decent portion of this album. If I had to pick favorites, i’d say the first three tracks and that’s about it…
The track credits are just the people who wrote the song, not the people who performed it. I miss the detailed performance credits (performer and instrument) that the older Pigface albums had.
