“Great day spent with my dear friend of 32 years, Al Jourgensen. Always there through thick and thin through the good and the bad we are still goofy as hell and both grateful and somewhat surprised to be ALIVE!
Hint for all you fans of old school REVCO we are putting something special together for you with some familiar faces along with some added surprises.”
Think Connelley is the familiar face he’s alluding to?
Maybe - as long as it’s just a guest shot I can see Chris doing it. Or maybe he just means Sin and Tony Campos and the whole current crew. Maybe even Jello.
I doubt the Stayte guys will be back.
Y’know… it could make more sense for a certain member of the Book Club to work with Revolting Cocks than it would to rejoin Ministry. Not that anyone is thinking about that unlikely possibility. I’m certainly not holding my breath.
Stay tuned for Al Jourgensen’s new supergroup, featuring Lil Wayne, Scott Ian, Trent Reznor, and Joey Jordison
Wasn’t Groovie Mann/Frankie Nardiello supposed to be involved in some RevCo stuff not long ago too (“not too long ago” = some point within the last 15 years)? Whatever happened to that?
It used to be Al would have to actually specifically be talking about something for it to get into the discussion circles (pre-Internet, y’all). So Buck Satan always had momentum in dialogue, at least. And that was continued sessions of some practice, jams, a few gigs, etc. that carried that myth (which 20 years later became a reality!).
But now, Al just has to mention in passing some thought he had or conversation and thanks to the Internet and shitty sites like Loudwire, Blabbermouth, etc., it can run wild.
Musicians talk to other musicians all the time about doing stuff together. Sometimes they fiddle around with shit too. A lot of it goes nowhere. But it’s fun to goof on nonetheless.
I really am curious about the Lil Wayne one, though. Did they bump into each other at some music store or what? It’s just such an odd call out. Maybe Al really was actively looking for a hip hop guy to pull in . . . . he did eventually nab Arabian Prince and eventually DJ Swamp so . . . who knows?
I seem to remember a Facebook post or interview or something with Al saying he happened to run into Lil Wayne in public somewhere and they started talking because they “had the same tattoos” and it turned out Lil Wayne was on a similar wavelength politically or something.
It was around the same time as Al’s weird thing where he kept saying in interviews that he was going to be collaborating with Trent Reznor soon while Reznor was commenting that it was news to him and he hadn’t even spoken with Al in twentysomething years, so nobody really put stock in it. Still wonder what was up with that.
