I can’t remember where I heard or saw earlier, but the police surely shouldnt be trained to kill. Disarm is key. Something like 15 seconds within contact and this man is shot (over a knife). Excuse me for being macho here, but surely if a knife is pulled on me, I’m not that much of a puss to pull a gun and shot.

He wasn’t shot over a knife, per se.
He was shot because he was charging the cops.
The cops respond to a call for trouble and they don’t know if that dude just has a knife or something else.
What they DO know is that the guy was acting like a psychopath and made a run for the cops. Never once did he stop. Never once did he put his hands up. He shouted crazy violent stuff and made crazy violent motions and threats. He was a threat from the very second the cops arrived until the point where he was lying dead on the sidewalk.
Again, I hate that something like this happened . . . and happens elsewhere all to often. But I am NOT going to demonize the cops for doing their job (even if it was a little, uhhh, reactionary).

Totally off-topic, but did you know that Fanta was invented by the Nazis? During WWII Coca Cola kept on doing business with them until the US Govt finally put a stop to their immoral war profiteering ways, and the Nazi supermen got thirsty for that sweet, sweet nectar. They still had all the Coke factories and bottling centres, so they invented Fanta and used Coke’s gear to make and bottle it. Coca Cola must have adopted it into the official Coke family after the war and hushed up it’s Jew-hating, mass-murdering origins. Anyway, i just always found that interesting, i’ve always loved Fanta (only the original Orange and Lemon flavours) and been interested in WWII and Nazism, so i was surprised to find that out.

Also true ^. He was laundering money for the Germans through multiple bank channels… Funny, I was posting about this exact topic a little earlier in the week on another forum.
The Prescott/George Bush war profiteering thing is almost like Arthur Miller’s play All My Sons, but instead of the pilot son being killed in action because of the father’s greed, the son ended up capitalising on the father’s greed, became the head of the CIA, ordered the deaths of thousands, became president, brought about the deaths of thousands more, and retired peacefully to see his own son become president. As Gordon Gekko said, “Greed, for lack of a better word, is “good””.
