Pelican are currently wrapping up work on their new album “What We All Come To Need”, which is due out through Southern Lord in the coming months. The outing, which is described by band guitarist Laurent Lebec" as “the most perfect synthesis of everything we’ve done to date, sonically,” will feature the following track listing:
01 - “Glimmer”
02 - “The Creeper”
03 - “Ephemeral”
04 - “Specks Of Light”
05 - “Strung Up From The Sky”
06 - “An Inch Above Sand”
07 - “What We All Come To Need”
08 - “Final Breath”
Furthermore, the album promises to feature a wealth of guest appearances, including Greg Anderson of sunn O))), Aaron Turner of Isis, Ben Verellen of Harkonen/Helms Alee and Allen Epley of The Life & Times/Shiner fame. While a firm release date has yet to be revealed, the group have scheduled the following shows:
August 06th Seattle, WA - Neumo’s (feat. sunn O))), Eagle Twin, Earth)
September 22nd Brooklyn, NY - Brooklyn Masonic Temple (feat. sunn O))), Eagle Twin, Earth)
Oh shit. I might go to that NYC show.
The Temple is a beautiful place btw. Quite a venue.
I saw them once in Syracuse NY. They were very solid. Played “March Into the Sea” which was just as epic live as on record.
I have trouble sitting through a whole record of instrumental stuff. But live it is well worth it.
I will be going to that NYC show. Pretty fucking stoked. It’s an insane lineup for that sort of music.
That’s why I posted this. I figured some of you would really like that line up. God knows I do. Wish they were coming somewhere near me.
Nice, can’t wait. The guests sound awesome. Their Ephemeral EP is fucking titts and watching them play The Woods live was the heaviest weight I have ever been under.
Sounds promising. I’m positive they debuted some of these new songs on their tour this spring, including their Earth cover (highlight of the night!), and it was much more ear pleasing than the mediocrity of their last record
