Yeah the second release…which bombed. A couple of good tracks but nothing like the first cd.
i’m retarded so give me the link.
you guys don’t know Paul’s Boutique??
Holy shit!
That’s must own material by the boys!!!
Eggman, the sounds of science! that album is bad ass!!!

Didn’t know that Mr. Barker was a florist, as well.
[tongue]
Paul’s Boutique was always a critical favorite because of their use of sampling on the album, but I always preferred License To Ill. The Sounds of Science is a pretty funny song. moo

Sorry about the vagueness. I ASSumed that it was a well known cd. anyway its’ by the bestie boys as was later mentioned and the connelly comment was because in his book he mentioned he loathed the band when he heard liscence to ill

Wow, total blasphemy on that latter part. I think this is one of the most groundbreaking rap records ever, easily in the top 3.
Anyone who hasn’t heard it, go to a local pawn shop (there’s always one there) and get it…the remaster will be BAD ASS as it sorely needs bassssssssss!!!
Yeah, a classic album. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul’s_Boutique has all the samples from the album listed. That’s what I loved about it. It’s a total cut-and-paste musical effort. I think they may have written a couple things for it, but it’s almost completely sampled. That’s a tough thing to do without coming off like a Puff-Daddy type rip off.
hey. i’m old.
but i still like the fact that SHE’S CRAFTY…

Once you hear how they re-did “hello brooklyn” you
ll cream yourself
I always liked the rhyme:
“running from the law the press and the parents
Is your name Micahel Diamond?
Naw mines Claiwrence.” (“iw” added for dialect)

It is a good album, but not their creative peak.
That would come three years later with the jaw droppingly awesome ‘Check Yr Head’.
I don’t even like rap and that album floors me.
Interesting though how ‘Paul’s Boutique’ dropped like a lead balloon on release. It was seen to be such a dud at the time that their label said bye bye them and showed them the door…
I also like Check Your Head. Talk about creative. Everyone calls them hacks for having nothing but a samples-album, so what do they do? Break out the drum kit and upright bass and geetar, and just play everything themselves…and it’s STILL killer.
Hell I love the whole catalog sans Five Boroughs, but I’ll let it slide.
The first album I listened to after proposing to my girlfriend was…ta da!!!
Paul’s Boutique!!
