Maybe I’m alone here but there is no way I could listen to music that, from start to finish, ridiculed all of the core values I believed in. No matter how catchy the beat, how slick the riffs, there is nothing that would/could make me like music set to Rush Limbaugh’s racist/sexist/misogynistic rants. And for a conservative that’s exactly what RATM music is. It’s fairness, justice, anti-greed, and anti-oppression rants set to music. All of the things conservatives hate and or call “hand outs”
Oh, brother. This is why it’s hard to take your arguments seriously, Grumps. You’re screaming again about different schools of thought regarding government and policy as if it’s some ultimate black and white battle of good versus evil.
I guarantee you that both liberals and conservatives BELIEVE that fairness, anti-corruption, and anti-oppression are basic fundamentals of their parties or philosophies. They just disagree on what is needed to enable, achieve, or promote such values.

Oh i agree with you with that both parties may think they believe in those things but only one party does everything consistently to try and destroy those values. Spend a sec listening to Fox news they do anything and everything to scaring the shit out of their base, lying, and distorting to achieve their end. Their end is seldom if ever just or fair. not to mention anyone with a itty bitty inkling of ethics knows that your ends never justify your means.
the repubs and the dems are not the same and I’m tired of that tired comeback
here’s a very simple example between democratic and republican behavior and if you think they behave the same after this then I don’t think there is anything I can tell you that will explain it any clearer:
the Dixie Chicks tell a concert crowd in Europe that they are embarrassed to be from Texas, the same state as W. The republicans lose their minds. Start calling for them to be excommunicated from the country, they should be brought up on treason charges. some right wingers were calling for their houses to be burned down.
Now cue 7-8 years later, another musician, Ted Nugent, has something disparaging to say about a sitting president, but instead of saying he was embarrassed of the pres. He called for the assassination of him, which actually is a crime. and he didn’t say it to a select concert crowd he said it on national television for all to hear… Cue the republican outrage in 3…2…1… crickets. "oh that Nugent he’s just a great american exercising his first amendment. Only he wasn’t, he was breaking the law.
did the left call for him to be brought up on treason? nope. Now, they asked how come he wasn’t brought up on charges because it is against the law to threaten the presidents life even if he is a democrat.
So this “both sides do it” is bullshit. It’s called a false equivalence. the longer people keep equating both sides as equal, the repubs can keep upping the ante because they are bringing the Dems right there with them whether the dems do it or not.
Disagreeing with enforced affirmative action hiring quotas or scholarship funds is completely different than “wantin’ to string up a buncha coons and hang 'em from a tree”.
If these were the only differences I would agree with you.
And wanting underage girls’ parents to know when their daughters get an operation to have an abortion is very different than thinking “it’s okay to punch a bitch in the face because she can’t make a proper sandwich”.
LOL??? what are you talking about? I’d want to know if my under-age daughter got an operation… wtf?
This is why I’m, for the most part, apathetic about politics. You got two sides equally dogmatic about how right or wrong it is to privatize education or raise taxes or penalize criminals or some other stuff. They both believe their side is right and the other is wrong and therefore evil or stupid or something. I understand people’s passion for wanting things to go one way or another, but the whole black and white “us versus them” mentality of it all makes about as much sense to me as dogmatic religious fanatics killing each other because they have different beliefs.
I don’t see it as black and white as this ,and I suppose that proves your point about what your saying. If everything was as topical as you’re making it out then I could see your point but its not.
