Not really, If you have someone like Dahmer who has admitted to their atrocities then yeah, kill 'em. and I don’t mean some forced confession from the cops. I mean full on evidence, they admit to the crimes they show how they did it… then they are ripe for the chair and I wholly support it.

If they go to their grave denying they ever did anything wrong then I believe they should get the benefit of the doubt. No death penalty, but better safe than sorry lock em up perhaps at some point evidence will come along and prove their innocence and they will be set free. Can’t set someone free if they’re dead.

I guarantee you that both liberals and conservatives BELIEVE that fairness, anti-corruption, and anti-oppression are basic fundamentals of their parties or philosophies. They just disagree on what is needed to enable, achieve, or promote such values.

Disagreeing with enforced affirmative action hiring quotas or scholarship funds is completely different than “wantin’ to string up a buncha coons and hang 'em from a tree”.

And wanting underage girls’ parents to know when their daughters get an operation to have an abortion is very different than thinking “it’s okay to punch a bitch in the face because she can’t make a proper sandwich”.

This is why I’m, for the most part, apathetic about politics. You got two sides equally dogmatic about how right or wrong it is to privatize education or raise taxes or penalize criminals or some other stuff. They both believe their side is right and the other is wrong and therefore evil or stupid or something. I understand people’s passion for wanting things to go one way or another, but the whole black and white “us versus them” mentality of it all makes about as much sense to me as dogmatic religious fanatics killing each other because they have different beliefs.

Oh i agree with you with that both parties may think they believe in those things but only one party does everything consistently to try and destroy those values. He called for the assassination of him, which actually is a crime. and he didn’t say it to a select concert crowd he said it on national television for all to hear… Cue the republican outrage in 3…2…1… crickets. "oh that Nugent he’s just a great american exercising his first amendment. Only he wasn’t, he was breaking the law.

but I think you’re missing the point of the thread. If johnny was a conservative, well, okay, it doesn’t come out in his music, he’s not out using his $$ to spread wing nutterey. Same with Mustain to a not so lesser extinct. If they’re dudes with opinions then fine, and I like them a little less but they are entitled to their opinions and while I think they are wrong opinions I can’t so much, for lack of a better word, “fault” them for that. but when they become activists that’s a different story and there is no doubt in my mind and yours, I’m sure, that RATM, are activists. I understand your position, but I certainly don’t subscribe to it. I have political values and beliefs but I don’t let this become so life defining and self-consuming to the point where it impedes every facet of my life.

Also, rather than walling myself in a protective little box and keeping myself shielded from ideas and mindsets different than mine, I actually prefer to expose myself to such thoughts and ideas. It will either help me wrestle through my own convictions to become more confident in them or, perhaps I will discover something new or discover a fresh perspective that I had not considered before.

I understand your position for yourself, but I disagree with you expecting others to follow the same narrow-minded path and I think it is foolish to label people as stupid simply because, unlike you, they have the ability to compartmentalize their music (or film, writing, painting, etc.). tastes separately from their political stance.
