Paul was chilling with Trent and his crew in February. People should know that Danny Lohner got into NIN because of Barker. I spoke to Paul last night and Trent will be over at Paul’s place when NIN tours there. So the connection is pretty tight with Barker and Reznor. I mention this because people tend to think the two hate each other. There is tremendous respect from each party toward the other.
Paul has scrapped his vocals on his music and has got new vocalists to come in and redo them.
spurburn.com is coming to a finish soon. It’s getting there.
He’s doing music for a soundtrack.
He’s teamed up with musicians where he lives for yet another project.
So he’s busy…
Thanks Afra, but any news regarding the Lead Into Gold Reissue?

I will ask again. It seems that Paul is quite sensitive of his work (hence, the re-doing of the vocals), so if he’s not happy with that release, it may be a while yet. I will be sure to ask.
regardless,cool info, thanks

Old thread but, figured it would fit in with the possible idea of a re-issue of old content (and new)
Lee popa posted this in a FB group:

and a sexy url with nothing YET! so far, but who knows:

Also is it just me or are the tracks on the Soundcloud remastered? These songs are clearer than I remember, louder, crispier…
edit: wow creepy! Last reply to this thread was nearly 10 YEARS AGO to my follow up reply…one big NYC move and one marriage later and here I am
I have returned just for this. Reissues are coming. I feel it. I know it. Barker will bring it all now. Everything.
I am low and slow. Forever.

Nice…right in town here. I saw “Fix” there as well, with Paul Barker present in person for that one.
I’ll plan on attending this. It will be interesting to see someone drawing the line on film connecting modern “industrial” to the original industrial sounds of SPK, TG, CV, etc.

INDUSTRIAL SOUNDTRACK FOR THE URBAN DECAY Webcast featuring Paul Barker
That sounds great! Back when I was doing industrial podcasts I was talking a bit with one of the producers, they definitely have broad knowledge.
So I attended the “Industrial Soundtrack for the Urban Decay” film event yesterday (cool film, btw, and cool footage, but pretty elementary and told me nothing I didn’t already know - kind of like an industrial music Cliff’s Notes), and Paul Barker was there in person. I had a chance to chat with him, and here’s the word from the horse’s mouth on Lead Into Gold activity…
First of all, Julia Nash got the ball rolling originally by asking Paul if she could release the never-released Low And Slow EP on the revived WaxTrax. Paul said yes. She also asked if he had any outtakes/additional material from the time, so Paul dug out some things for that. And the original cover artwork, which was finished back in the day and ready for release, will be “99% unaltered” for the release. Additionally, he found some old unfinished material from that time which he decided to finish up and release, so along with the EP there will also be some more brand new/old material from Lead Into Gold…a new album, it sounds like. He said he’s taking great pains to use equipment that was available at the time to maintain the style and sound of the original material.
I asked Paul if this means the old Lead Into Gold material will see reissue as well, and he thinks that will likely happen too.
And of course, he’ll be debuting LIG live at the Cold Waves festival, possibly doing some other shows as well to follow…but Chicago will be the big debut.

Excellent, that’s pretty cool news, nice that you got to meet him.
