That’s right. For Halloween. He’ll be flying in and will perform a few hours for the Halloween crowd at Neo. Cover is $5. Will be awesome! As always, we’ll post pictures and the setlist he spins. Spoke to him today and he’s really looking forward to it - if people live around/in Chicago, do stop in…
wow…cool, have fun!
Whatever happened to his original tune from the last DJ gig? Did it get incorporated into the USSA stuff, or is he building up stuff for a solo effort?
Also, if you run into him, would you bug him about New Year’s Party for me? It’s recorded already, that’s the hard part, right?
well, Patton was at the show last night, right? I’m sure they may have talked, since of course Duane = Tomahawk, and Pink Anvil’s out on Patton’s Ipecac label. So who knows…maybe something’s in the works there.
I’m also hopeing Patton signs USSA to his label as well. A USSA/Tomahawk tour would be awesome. Tomahawk are without a bass player now so…hmm…I wonder who could they find to replace?[;)]
I did bring up that exact point with Duane (the combined USSA/Tomahawk tour and Barker filling in for the bass) and he said he definitely thought of it. That would be very cool so the idea is out there amongst themselves.

The track he played during the DJ gig has not been re-recorded with USSA, but two other tracks, “Wasteland” and “Sugarwater” are. These two are his own songs and he himself did the vocals on them when he recorded it himself, which he should be putting out soon I hope. I really do - people will really like it.

He saw Brody in Austin on the tour and even though they didn’t discuss it, it is on the list of things for Paul to do. He said he’ll be getting right on it and was somewhat surprised people asked about this. So this probably nudged him
cool! and i also hope he’s gonna release his solo stuff.
ooh my, there is a chance I’ll be in town around that time! If so I will have to make it out to Neo and possibly rendezvous with some fellow prongers!
nice. halloween.
hey do any of you guys have access to the onion reviews of ussa? they exist and i’m not finding them.
thanks.
once again, wish i could be there for the rockshow.
halloween. hope paul starts his set with that timeless tune. that would be priceless. don’t imagine it will happen. the bop bop song.
Are you sure? Even a search for Paul Barker just brings up an old Dark Side of the Spoon review (which is dated 2002 for some reason).
awesome. i’ll be there.
when i spoke with paul about the track he played at neo, he said he had a “whole album” worth of stuff and he didn’t know what he was going to do with it at the moment. i told him to release it, duh.
onion chicago version ,with a feature and onion milwaukee, a preview w/photos. got this on good authority and can’t find either.
i think these may be coming up now.
all the news fit to print you know.
Ah, the print version.
Can’t help you there.
Bloody typical that this is a couple of days after I leave the USA.
…wait, no DJ AFRA?! WTF!?
Oh man its gonna be sweet!
Thanks for the info Afra, you know we’ll be there!
