So I was going to wait until we have a new episode ready, but that could be another week or two at the current pace. Anyways, this is the podcast my buddy & I put together:
He’s Chad on the show, and I’m Dingus. It’s really like getting two podcasts in one- we have the “regular” Paradoxal Pterodactyl episodes where we painstakingly mash a bunch of crazy audio together- thrift store tapes, surreptitiously recorded conversations, our friends’ bands, field recordings, and special musical content created specifically for the 'cast (the goal is for the listener to never expect what’s coming next); we also put out in-between episode “Snacktime” episodes where we showcase individual songs, or EPs, or live “bootleg” recordings we’ve made ourselves.
Please check it out, I’d love to know what you all think. We started off strong listener-wise, but that’s faded a bit each episode since we don’t put out on a regular schedule (there’s a straight line if I’ve ever heard one).
We aren’t in the iTunes store, but it’s easy to copy-and-paste our URL into the program to subscribe. We also have a drop-box on our site for anyone that has audio they want to contribute- we’ll consider just about anything, but “Chad” has final approval, so I can’t guarantee that any particular submitted item will either (a) get used, or (b) get used in one pristine piece and not get all chopped up and rearranged and otherwise taken advantage of.
We posted a new snacktime episode while we work on episode #9. This time it’s a live set by Peter J. Woods that I recorded at last year’s NoisefeSTL. PJW is an amazing guy who is at the center of a crazy noise/experimental scene in Milwaukee. He’s on tour right now, if you’re in or around Nashville, Bloomington, Cincinatti or Grand Rapids you can still catch him. The Cincinatti show should be especially cool, also on the bill is Evolve (realicide youth records), whose NoisefeSTL performance we featured in a previous snacktime.
Are you on itunes? I could give a fuck about the software but it seems easy to get set up…I would download it if you are there, otherwise I’m just downloading MP3’s. Gnome sane?
We are not in the Itunes store (it’s on our agenda, but we’ve heard they can be picky about copyrights, which is a bit of a grey area with us), but it’s still easy to subscribe to us in Itunes. In Itunes, click on the “Advanced” menu and select “Subscribe To Podcast” and then just copy and paste our URL into that box and that should do the trick.
We also have a “Add to Itunes” button on the right hand side of our page that supposedly should do all that automatically, but I haven’t tried it. The button is just a link, so if you are using Itunes, theoretically you can subscribe to us by just clicking on the link below:

Somebody try this and let me know if it works. Crossing my fingers.
New “Snacktime” episode is up, this one’s a 4 song EP from 2007 by the band I used to manage, Losers Make Good (which eventually led to the band I just left). The first track was featured on an anti-drunk driving compilation, which was pretty ironic- we were all huge lushes back then. It’s the weakest cut on here, really. The third song is my favorite.
Episode 13 is long past due, but we’re still working on it.
In the meantime, we’ve posted a few snacktime episodes, including my noisefest performance from this year (wherein I proposed to my girl), and evil dildo’s band disrupture (the live set he posted a few months ago).
So check 'em out if you haven’t already. AND WE ARE NOW LISTED IN THE PODCAST SECTION OF THE ITUNES STORE.
Just dropped a new episode. It’s tits, check it out. Also posted a few snacktime episodes since the last real episode three months ago. So there’s that too, if any of you actually listen to this shit. Write us a review on iTunes, or like us on facebook, or tell your fucking friends or something. Dammit.
New snacktime episode up. 5 song EP from my buddy’s old band The Pozo Stompers (circa 2004). Great songs, straight up rock’n’roll, so if you’re not into the weirdo noise shit we usually champion, check this one out for sure. Good stuff, I promise.
Episode 17 is up, might be the best one yet- has it all, noise, techno, ska, whatever genre you want to put Power Animal in, PLUS the first track from my new project Jaded Evil Lambs, “Koala Chlamydia”. PLUS the super cool Dixon’s Violin snacktime is still racking up hits, well worth your time to check out.
Hey so we had about a year of downtime since we posted anything, but we are back in business as of today with a new episode, and several more in production. Check it out, tell your friends, yadda yadda.
Paradoxal Pterodactyl Episode 20 is up and it might be out best yet- plus big announcent, we have a new guy Brad working on the podcast with us now. We’re lucky to be working with him, he has a degree in audio engineering, and was voted best noise act in St. Louis this year (as The Night Grinder) in the big “alternative weekly” the Riverfront Times. This is his first episode, and it is a doozy.
Also, noiseheads are going to want to check out the last snacktime episode, it is amazing as well. Make sure to play it on a system with a nice subwoofer, the bass is insane.
