OT : Skinny Puppy DVD

Just got home with it a while ago. Haven’t digested it yet.

incredible picture. they don’t get too abstract with the imagery - still show mostly puppy on stage (I was worried about this one).

few weird things… audio track will skip. i read about it doing this to some of the UK releases, but at litany people were saying it was a different printing for US customers - and it shouldn’t happen to us. ohgr is low in the mix. and lastly the credits at the beginning pixelate - kinda wierd.

like i said - i haven’t digested it yet just half way through it. I haven’t even seen the 2nd disk. great setlist though.

Audio skip happend to me too. I recieved a copy from the record company about a month ago. Audio cuts out about 5 times during the first disk at various points.

Just getting ready to watch both discs for the first time right now. I’m really excited…hopefully there won’t be any troubles. I’ll post if there are.

Mine barely shipped today…arggh!

Hmm, mine was from Deep Discount also, but I got email confirmation on Tuesday that it was shipped. Maybe they’re just gonna send a driver to your house to drop it off.

wtf? i ordered from deepdiscount and have not gotten an email and when i check their site for the dvd, it says 10/04

http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemID=RYK236384

when i ordered it was past the $9 price point (like 12 or 13 something)

ah well, i guess they’ll ship it out sooner or later. jerks.

Surprised I found it yesterday. Then again, I usually go to places that would have it.

This represents what I consider one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, and the DVD did it justice. Video at times is a bit blocky, but can get by it. The fact that it focuses in on times the backing visuals is cool. Some great visuals and speeches. Especially during ‘deep down Trauma Hounds.’ Great rant written on screen.

Ogre sounded fine to me for the most part. Might have been a tad low, but nothing bad. To bad for the ‘Reclamation/Brap’ he didn’t say more to say here. As I know here in Minneapolis he really ranted and on that San Francisco bootleg he had quite a rant. Tornto was a few words, and then mostly moans and other noises. Still cool. Glad to see ‘Testure’ on the DVD. ‘The Choke’ is well and good too, but saw that live and wanted to see ‘Tesutre’ live.

I had no audio or video issues. Maybe you got one from an early batch, else it could just be a player issue. Still need to check out Last Rights/TDP archival footage, Eurotrauma and the Information Warfare documentary…

Overall, this DVD gets a great rating from me. Like 9-9.5 / A.

I went to 3 record stores yesterday in search of it, 2 of them I wasn’t surprised they didn’t have it, but when the 3rd one didn’t have it either I was pretty disappointed, they’ve started stocking all the latest Industrial DVD releases. Oh well, I was really looking forward to it too :frowning:

damnnit. i’m thinking I may have one “front the first batch”. I have a Sony DTS DVD player. I’ll try it on my computers and see if it still does it.

did the opening credits pixelate on you at all?

do you guy’s packages say “all regions” or NTSC? (i’m at work - so i’ll have to re-check) but i’m thinkning my DVD says NTSC but the package says “all regions”.

Could be from an early batch then. Didn’t notice any pixelation in the credits. Case has the globe with All on it and has NTSC on the sticker from SPV with their information on it.

yea. that’s the way mine looks.

Final Verdict:
Awesome DVD. great disk 2 stuff. there’s actually a place where skinny puppy is in a van traveling from town to town and you can hear one of the guys singing revco’s “Cattle Grind”. All he says is “you sure know how to treat me baby”. heh

anyway, awesome footage. awesome show. great disk 2 stuff. mine is whacked. it pixelates all through disk 2, and about half way through the european selection the audio un-syncs and i couldn’t get it back correctly (pause - play - pause - play). also on the second disk every now and again blue squares pop up all over the screen.

hope you guys don’t get one like the one i did. i’m gonna try to see if they will replace it. but, great DVD.

The item(s) listed below shipped today."

From deepdiscountdvd.com - so this is good. They charged me for the $9 price too…

my disk 2 has a few of those blue things popping up here and there, but nothing too major. i guess i got lucky and got a good copy of disc 1 and 2. it’s a fanboi’s dream, that’s for sure. they’re really funny guys!

my copy was shipped today too. [blush]

Heh, I got mine from Best Buy Tuesday afternoon. $19.99 and in and out in 5 minutes. Easily replaces my copy of Aint it Dead Yet, sadly. The quality is much higher than I was imagining. Although he does seem to have some framerate trouble when filming cEvin. Eurotrash is awesome though, so much better than the Brap vol 3 footage.

Best Buy actually had it? I rarely have faith in them. I found it at an indie shop for a few bucks over Best Buy. Plus they had Jelvins, which Best Buy wouldn’t.

That Information Warfare documentary is pretty sweet. Love the opinions and thoughts expressed. The encouragement of digging into what you are told is a good one.

Eurotrauma was good. Did have the dancing pixelated blue blocks, weird. Though audio never did really de-synch. Might have been a couple scenes it did, but not much more than that.

Last Rights/Too Dark Park archival footage was interesting. Just a bummer it’s all to short. Just footage laid over Spasmolytic and Love In Vein studio tracks. Still interesting glimpses into the past for me.

Madups to the vid.

Pro-test video was a scream. Goths vs wiggers. Shoot them both.

Best scene is where that gear in Brussels can’t front Key his advance. The guy looks like he’s gonna start crying. Didn’t realize these guys were so into weed too.

I picked up my copy from Suncoast. The audio was glitchy for me. I am pissed and am having my friend return it for me today…
