Sorry for not translating the whole article… but in all it say’s something like…
MPA want all filesharer’s that share music to get jail…
ok… point taken…
but next year they want to go one step further and
do the same thing with sites that share (unlicenced?) guitar/bass-tabs and lyrics… [crazy]

They want to expand the law against illegal downloading of music to also include
guitar- / bass- tabs and lyrics.

… i just don’t know how to laugh at this shit… insane…

This was already tried about 7 years ago. Cherry Lane and Hal Leanord tried to get the OLGA taken off line. I think they will lose again! the question remains, So what if you happen to learn a riff from a song that you didn’t buy the music to? Your a criminal?? and your even worse criminal if you show your friend how to play that riff?? Damnm, selfish, addictcted to money JERKS

Well you can kind of understand where they are coming from…after all lyrics are a major part of any artists income, and with all these illegal lyrics being traded over illegal “Bit2Bit” networks substantial revenue is being literally stolen from record companies pockets…

i know that everyone has a problem with the premise that musicians actually need to eat, but they do.

people think its okay to DL mp3s from real musicians because it’s avaialable, because people are dumb assholes.

Top40 mp3s? knock yourself out… those people are paid by pepsi, so called ‘alternative bands’ such as Korn can get fucked too… addidas paid the bills in that house.

but most of the bands we listen to make money from album sales, and tours, and not that much…
most of my favorite bands have other jobs on the side.

As for guitar tabs and lyrics… that’s lame. so you learn how to play ‘for whome the bell tolls’ by metallica… you’re not going to not own the album just 'cause you can play the intro. it’s not like you’d get away with releasing it as a single.

outlawing tabs and lyrics is dumb.

outlawing tabs and lyrics is dumb.

i agree. totally insane.

RIAA Bans Telling Friends About Songs

LOS ANGELES - The Recording Industry Association of America announced Tuesday that it will be taking legal action against anyone discovered telling friends, acquaintances, or associates about new songs, artists, or albums. “We are merely exercising our right to defend our intellectual properties from unauthorized peer-to-peer notification of the existence of copyrighted material,” a press release signed by RIAA anti-piracy director Brad Buckles read. “We will aggressively prosecute those individuals who attempt to pirate our property by generating ‘buzz’ about any propietary music, movies, or software, or enjoy same in the company of anyone other than themselves.” RIAA attorneys said they were also looking into the legality of word-of-mouth “favorites-sharing” sites, such as coffee shops, universities, and living rooms.
