OT : I lost everything

guys… just a reason why you should NOT throw away your CDs. Today I lost a 200 gig drive on my server that had ALL my shit on it (MP3s, SHNs, FLACs, Installers my serials, my site). yea, i’ve got my workstation - but I keep nothin on it. I keep all my shit on my server. I’m pissed - had to rant.

In short, CDs are good - they don’t crash. And ALWAYS keep a backup. DAMNNIT!

Dood, that sux. Is there no way you can run a recovery utility on it and try and salvage some info?

Yea I’ve trieda few utilities , but no luck. I’m gonna have to pay a data recovery place about $500 to get it back - if i choose to do that. which i might actually. my BIOS won’t even see the drive, thats why i can’tuse any utility to repair it. Guys in anthrax protection suits will have to get the data back - literally.

dude, just blow a third of that on a good new hard drive… external, i might add.

i feel your pain. i lost my hard drive months back, lost over 4,000 mp3’s… AUGH!

i feel your pain .[unsure]

That bites the big weanus.

That blows! [:(] My dad gave me a computer at one point he built himself before I got a Mac, it would crash every two to three months and I got fed up to restoring data on it every time! I used to have a bunch of rarities and acetates on my homemade PC as my dad built a few years ago, they were as mp3s. Ever since my 80GB Maxtor drive crashed and I didn’t have them on my iPod. I totally lost all of them since I had no contact with the guy I got them from anymore. I still had CDs of some of my music, but it took quite a few days working non-stop trying to convert my music back to sound files. If you can, either save your music to DVD Recordables or an external hard drive, and keep your CDs.
