Does anyone here have any decent Fad boots or unreleased stuff? I have a partial show from '82 or so and then a handful of songs from the final tour Frank did with Depeche Mode on the Exciter tour in '01 or '02.
I have the Mute 2-disc Best Of as well as Gad & Under the Flag. His later folky stuff doesn’t really interest me but I think his early work is criminally underrated. There’s supposedly a DVD retrospective coming sometime this year so maybe the poor guy will get some long-deserved props & recognition.
I also think there were better Fad songs at the time that Al could’ve covered other than Ricky’s…Lady Shave or Lord of the Flies in particular.
I’m just getting into Fad recently. I plan to order an earlier album once my current orders come (Throbbing Gristle, Pscyhe’s “Insomnia Theatre” , and Nash the Slash already came)
Ha I was thinking the same about Lady Shave ever since I first heard that song. You can definitely see where Al got his synthy influence from in those days. Any cd recomendations? I havent bought anything from them but I wanna know which albums I should buy first.
