I was poking around online, and on avg. they sell for about $175 - $250. It’s an older model (made from '88-95), but I did find a couple of positive user reviews.
BUY IT!!
I bet it doesn’t play through the AMP because he doens’t know that the battery needs to be changed out of the back for the pick ups!!
I love Ibanez instruments I bought one of these in blue for Ms. grmpysmrf about a year ago! It’s fantastic. It looks alot newer than 95. Make sure you check where the Neck connects to the body for stress cracks and that the neck isn’t warped and gives off fret buzz…Happy playing!

Cool, thanks for the input. I’m an Ibanez fan, as well. I have a charcoal 2003 S370 (with the ultraslim body) at home, and it’s lightweight and plays great. It was $300 in '03 when I got it, and that price seemed like a bargain even then.

I have 2 acoustic Ibanezes and 2 electric Ibanezes. I got my first one in 97 It’s a thin body Low end Satriane model with the two humbuckers and a single coil it’s the purple smoke color. I don’t play it much because it’s a floyd rose and I have a terrible time trying to get into tune so I have given up with it. I got the new Ibanez it’s the SA series (the 320 I think) but it’s basically the same set up MINUS the floyd rose and I love IT! The action is so sweet on it and the Pick ups that come with all Ibanez have such long sustain it’s just like GOLD! LET HIM LET YOU PLAY THAT BASS BEFORE YOU BUIY IT!!! the fret board could be all MESSED UP!

Yeah, I’m definitely going to inspect it and play on it before handing over the cash. There could very well be a reason he only wants $50. His only description is “in great shape”. I guess it’s his wife’s bass. We shall see…
Exact color and everything. I forgot I have 2 single coils
and the bottom one is a Humbucker!
I’ll see if I can find the acoustics on there as well. The
newest one I have is one of the newer ones that run
for about 200 Bucks and is a semi thin body acostic
electric called the “talman”
I didn’t check the specs. I assumed the model was newer based on how it looked I think most of the newer models all have active pick ups.
BTW he said he got it and the only thing wrong with it was it was dirty…BTW £440 is about 1000 american dollars. Good Luck with donations

Hey, that’s a nice-looking bass. Pretty expensive ($931 US), but it probably sounds ace. My budget bass will be good enough for jam sessions, and recording bass tracks into my Korg synth. It definitely needs a good clean-up (the fretboard has all kinds of buildup…nasty!) and some new strings, otherwise it’s in great shape for a '95. $50 was definitely a good deal. They could have charged $100 more and still sold it.
