Haha. I am smrt.

$1,500.00 for a couple records that some guy jacked up with his Silver Sharpie? Here comes another heroic no-bid auction from the great Jourgensen . . .

My thoughts exactly.

It’s pretty amusing that he destroyed the acetates by autographing them. They are, in effect, unplayable now.

That’s hilarious

I’m thinking if he didn’t vandalize them they could have maybe fetched as much as $700-$800 for the set from a serious collector/ fan. But his little “modification” did NOT make them more marketable.

Yeah really, sign the certificate of authenticity of something, not the record itself! Especially not with the lame ass peace/anarchy symbol combo. What a dork.

Everything you guys have mentioned has outlined how fucking batshit Jourgensen has become.

How fucking bad must things be if he has to stoop this low? Someone better start those History lectures he was planning on giving… [laugh]

I’m thinking his History class would be very much like this . . .

Yeah, I caught that on TV last year after an all-night bender in Vegas. I was crying it was so funny.

Look at the other stuff Al is selling

$1500 is not bad considering how much he’s asking for “vintage” electronics.

Wow. Just. Amazing.

I’m holding out until they upload the $800 Al Jourgensen gym socks, or the $6000 signed Al Jourgensen toilet set.

Lame.

Maybe, maybe, in 1992 but that boat has long since sailed … and probably sank!

Actually, $1,500 for one AMS DMX 15-80s delay is a good price all things considered (and assuming it works), so two for $3,000 is fair. Those units are quite rare and desirable because they have a unique sonic quality heard on many hit records.

Refurbished 15-80s and S-DMX units often sell for around $2,500.

I really can’t get over how much shit he’s hocking. Things seriously must be pretty bad. I almost feel a bit sorry for him. Almost. He’s just made so many fucked decisions in terms of music, business, and personal relationships, that I’m starting to suspect there’s some serious problems upstairs.

I read this article recently about some NFL footballer. Had a great head for business, did an economics degree, was a champion player. Retired, and was doing well. Then, years down the track, he started making all these fucked business decisions, was constantly irritable and prone to bizarre mood swings and behaviour, his marriage fell apart, and he eventually suicided. His brain was donated to science and what they found was years of head trauma and undiagnosed concussions had fucked his brain to smithereens.

I’m seeing a lot of parallels between that and Al and I’m wondering if the years of abuse have well and truly caught up with him in the most nadir of ways.

Given that, for all of his pretty shitty behaviour towards people close to him, from Paul Barker to the RAMCO Menudo whatever kids, I actually feel a bit sorry for him. It’s pretty easy to sit here and laugh at him and mock him, but it really is a pitiful way to be going about and I’m not one to laugh when I feel pity. I really cannot see this ending well. Especially since someone like that really cannot be helped and pretty much just has to be left to themselves.

Or maybe I’m being too dramatic. Maybe he’s completely fine and just a total asshole who’s hocking his shit and making crap music for the sake of it. I don’t know. That almost seems like too convenient an answer.

I’ve met a few people in the course of my life who have been heavy users of various substances over the long-term. With time, some seem to suffer something similar to a person who has had a frontal lobe head injury: they cannot control their impulses and they say things the average person would not ever say. They have moments of absolute brilliance that quickly fade away.

Not saying it’s that, just one possibility. “This is your brain on drugs (egg frying in pan). Any questions?”
