Nice find. Don’t have any recollection of this press release or most other PR. After you notice the first couple of news items being mostly made-up drivel you kinda just ignore it all. But it does give a good sense of what Wax Trax PR was like at the time.
I’m still in contact with Steve Harvey and Andy Ryder of Medium Medium, especially Steve.
With regards to which versions and what songs, etc…well, you should consider the accuracy of the likely source.
[reply]I looked up MEDIUM MEDIUM (what a terrible name) on YouTube out of curiosity, and listened to a bit. Their music was not bad at all, actually.
Which band was the “headliner” on this “tour”?
Ministry was the opener. I believe they only played a handful of dates with Medium Medium in March of 82.[/reply]
It was just a few dates but it was our first time playing outside of Chicago. Minneapolis, Madison and MKE in March and it was still cold as I remember. We all got along really well and we liked each other’s music a lot. Fun times.

I think it was either Talk Talk, Liquid Liquid, or Mr. Mister.
You mean you never heard of the “Monsters of Doubled Nouns Tour?”[/reply]
Tony Toni Tone’

I actually started writing a post yesterday about Medium Medium and how they were probably on the Super-Size Me Tour with Biggie Smalls, Junkie XL, Lil Kim, and the Brand New Heavies . . .
Love the “boom boxes”! Like seeing an ancient artifact.
It’s rad because those were literally CURRENT and modern then. They seem in place now as someone would use them for a kitschy retro design on their stationery/ ads.
Great band. Kind of hoped Mark Hollis would come out of seclusion and reform Talk Talk for a tour or something, but they have been defunct now for what, 20 years?

Their final album(Laughing Stock)was released in 91…and then 7 years later Mark Hollis released his one and only solo record(which is excellent)…and then yeah, just total seclusion…
