So I just got myself tickets to see SWANS at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago on 9/22. As I got into that band right after they fell apart in '97, I am super extremely stoked to be seeing this show, especially with the rave reviews the reunited group has been getting.

And then it turns out that my favorite Chicago natives BLANE FONDA (whom my band opened for a couple times here in STL) are having the cd release party for their new record the very next night at Subterranean! I recommend anybody who may be there for the Swans show, or lives there or whatever, check these guys out forrealz. They just put out an awesome video for a song off their first record, it is crazy good, and these guys are going to be fucking famous some day soon.

Not anything like Ministry, or Swans, or 98% of the shit we talk about here, but top notch shit nonetheless.

There’s a lot of good stuff touring right now.
Off the top of my head I’m planning to see:
Swans
O’Death
Weedeater
possibly Nekromantix. Possibly Earth. Some other stuff is coming that I’ve already forgotten about.
