The season ender was the most brutal episode (as far as audience POV) I think ever to be filmed. Anybody else catch this? This was probably the best season of any series ever.
any other thoughts? Be sure to “spoiler” them if you get detailed cause I woulda been pissed if someone spoiled this episode… and I NEVER get upset over movies being spoiled.

Yeah, I got up from my seat and said a big “holy fuck” at that. I just wonder how they’re going to go about the next season after this.
And did you see californication? That was a fucked up ending too. Showtime really stuck it to the viewers tonight, heh.
Hell yeah! SHowtime stuck it to the viewers!!I was thinking that too!
Spoiler: Highlight to read
[black]I said from the beginning of the season that they had to get rid of Dexter’s wife she is too hard to write around and is an obnoxious character to begin with. But holy shit how they got rid of her… if you remember in the earlier seasons Dexter was always talking about how he had to pretend to have emotions, is he still that way? will he care that she is gone? Is he gonna become a full on angry serial killer now? Is he gonna turn into the Lithgow character? So many fuckin questions.
And hank moody… Man, what a fuckin downer. Cute little becca fuckin’ some nerd!! holy shit. I’ve never liked that bitch that stole his book! I hope they write her character out in disgrace.
[/black]
I hate having to wait a whole year for the stories to start again!!! Hopefully House MD will be happy tomorrow night! I’m craving Hollywood ending after tonight!

SPOILER
[black]I think he really did come to the conclusion that he truly loved his family. Harry kept telling him he should leave, but Dexter decided against and ended up paying for it. I wonder if they’re writing off the kids too, or is he going to be the single father of three. But next season, I think we’ll get a completely angry and vengeful dexter. If that’s not the obvious, of course.
And Hank took a huge hit too. Hit rock bottom and lost everything. But he technically got his book back though, right? So i’m guessing that’ll come to something in the next season. But it was only a matter of time until Hank got screwed by Mia.[/black]
Right now i’m actually rediscovering the House series. Just picked up the first three seasons. But after the shitstorm of Dexter, i’ll be going through the older episodes first.
I missed Californication, but the Dexter finale was pretty heavy. I did not see that coming at all [shocked] This season with John Lithgow made up for season 3 being somewhat lackluster in spades.
Season 3 was good, but season 4 trumped it. And I almost gave up on it. Was starting to get tired of the romances, and all the drama with the other characters. It got the point of me saying “fuck them! Don’t care. Kill people! Jesus!”. Season picked up when they finally starting delving into the psyche of Arthur, and as they continued with it, more and more the season got better and better. Might have becoming my second favorite season of the series. I doubt anything will ever beat the first. The second was pretty damn good, but the Trinity stuff was just, wow.
[black] I wonder if they’re writing off the kids too, or is he going to be the single father of three.[/black]
[black]I think the kids are gone too. I’m thinking they are going to live with the “goofy grandparents.” This lets the writers start the storyline over again… wonder if they’re gonna pick up where 4 left off at the scene of the crime, or if their gonna pull that “3 years later” bullshit?[/black]
[black]But next season, I think we’ll get a completely angry and vengeful dexter. If that’s not the obvious, of course.[/black]
[black]I don’t know… it may start off that way but I could see the writers take in the “what have I been doing with my life?” and reach some enlightenment direction especially if season 5 will be the last season. which may be the case because it seems that dexter is always ify if they are gonna come back with a new season. they only renewed the dexter for one more season.[/black]
[black]And Hank took a huge hit too. Hit rock bottom and lost everything. But he technically got his book back though, right? So i’m guessing that’ll come to something in the next season. But it was only a matter of time until Hank got screwed by Mia.[/black]
[black] Well hank hasn’t lost everything… yet. but I am wondering about how coming out with the truth is gonna help him… It doesn’t matter if Mia doesn’t want to press charges for statutory rape… the state can press charges on moody whether she wants them to or not. This will help him sell his book though if he gets it back. good cliff hanger though not as tough as a cliffhanger as Dexter but definitely good![/black]
This season with John Lithgow made up for season 3 being somewhat lackluster in spades.
hell yea! I was so bored of Dexter season three. For some reason season 3 usually sucks hard on Showtime! although, I guess californication skipped that curse, but I think Weeds is still suffering from the curse of season three. Dexter Season three was so fucking boring and predictable with just no real story and it rambled! But oh yeah Dexter 4 has got to be the best television writing ever!
FOX lied to us. They said all new House MD but my dvr says “rerun”
Man, House is such an excellent show. Although season 5 was such a dark season, still good though. No where near dexter dark but pretty dark for House.
I think season 3 of House is probably the best (opposite of the showtime curse) That cop tritter is one of the biggest assholes that has been written into a show! He’s worse than that executive that comes in and tries have House fired in season 2 (was it)

[black]don’t think anyone was pressing charges. Mia was just going to admit that she didn’t write the book and that the whole thing was real. A last ditch effort for fame at Hank’s expense. [/black]
Fucking shame that we have to wait an entire year to see what happens on both. Fuck.
I doubt anything will ever beat the first. The second was pretty damn good, but the Trinity stuff was just, wow.
Well season 1 was some very good writing and it certainly carried the show because the actors were still pretty robotic (don’t know if that’s due to poor directors or immature character development) but season 4 has it all!!! excellent story line and the better acting. the characters have really grown (gotta admit i don’t really care for the “angel/la guerta” romance, it doesn’t really move the story along but I don’t think it detracted from the story at all either)
Lithgow put in an amazing performance! He just seems so natural as a creepy serial killer guy! I thought he was a good choice from day 1

Lithgow’s no stranger for that kind of role. He fit into it very nicely. He’s probably the best “villain” of the series by far. They made you feel for him. I honestly can’t imagine anyone else as Trinity other than Lithgow. He was perfect for it.

[black]the only reason I brought up the charges was because there was a bit of dialogue where Mia mentions that she won’t press charges and She’ll tell the authorities how she seduced him. To which I say, doesn’t matter what she wants and he can still be arrested. He could just get the book back and Mia can say she just stole it and hank being the nice guy he is let her… or they “schemed this plan together.”…[/black] it’s really an easy fix. just sux, as you said, that we gotta wait a whole year! weeds was a pretty good cliffhanger too, but I forgot about it after a day. these cliffhangers are gonna stick with me for a while!

Really? I never felt for the guy at all!! especially after he made that mother jump! oh man!! gotta say he did give me the creeps! the only thing I’d ever seen him in before was 3rd rock and since I thought that show was stupid I thought he was dumb too but I seriously thought he was a good choice because he physically fit that role… pudgy, odd looking, white, older… but damn did he excellently destroy that role. Normally I hate when actors are type casted but I think this role is Lithgow’s niche!

This is my big question:
[black]What is going to happen when the Lithgow “family” sees that “Kyle Butler” works for Miami Metro? that seems like it could be a whole nother story line in itself. Especially when the Miami Metro see’s how 2 other Kyle Butlers were killed and that the Lithgow “family” will say Dexter was hanging around as “Kyle Butler.” yeah he won’t have to explain to Rita but he will to Miami Metro!!
also, I wondered if that was Lithgow’s family or if they are some people he took hostage (so to speak) and brainwashed with fear and what not. THey were awfully odd acting more so than that of just “scared of Daddy” [/black]
