Old prongs

I can’t remember what the old board looked like. It’s like getting separated from your parents in Japan occupied China when you’re a young lad and then forgetting what your parents look like.

I went to the back and found this http://www.prongs.org/minfiles/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=1;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; and that’s what made me think of it.

It’s like “Empire of the Sun”?

A mostly positive appraisal of a then-new song?

Man, prongs used to be soft.

It’s like “Empire of the Sun”?

I hate that ‘band’ with a passion. I don’t know how so many people can consider it remotely ‘innovative’, let alone ‘psychedelic’.

Australia is fucked.

You’re forever welcome.

I still like What about us! solid tune !
Afra, do you know if these songs turned into any of the songs on Animos: Paydirt, Dead Practice, and Scartown?

dead practice = lockbox early instrumental version
you can actually hear it in AI movie

I was feeling just like young Jim/Jamie until Catgoat brought my parents back. Thanks Catgoat.

I like “What About Us,” too.
It renewed my interest in the band after DSotS.

Awww fuck you guys, Empire of the Sun is gold. Wayy better than MGMT.

What About Us? is a solid track, always liked it. I remember it getting slated by some. That was before we knew how low the Ministry name could sink. I’d take ten more songs like that over endless remixxx turds any day.

Also, Empire of the Sun is Ballard’s novel and the film adaptation. Be fucked if I want to talk about the band of the same name.

I only just read it for the first time a few months ago. Really great story, especially when you consider it’s semi-autobiographical.

If you liked “Empire of the Sun” read “The Kindness of Women” the semi-sequel. It’s got a lot more Ballardisms than “EotS” but covers much of the same ground and then delves deeper into his life. Also it appears that seemingly from that book JG Ballard has had sex with every woman he ever desired, which makes him pretty fucking cool!

Green Death, have you read his autobiog, ‘Miracles of Life’? Could be the best autobiography I’ve read. There’s not a whiff of bullshit or self pity/glorification and it’s beautifully composed.

PHEW.

Thank God.

No, I’ve read the majority of his full length books and just got the complete short stories recently so I know I need to get around to “Miracles”. I think you’ve just given me the kick in the pants I need to track it down!

Oh man, that’s totally Web 1.0.

I actually remember posting on it, too, before the revamp in 2002-2003…good times…
