oklahoma dream country

hey friends, if you have time please review/comment on my album from 03 it’s a bunch of demos that were recorded on dumpster dived equipment recorded by me a complete novice at the time in my apartment with neighbors beating on the floor during vox sessions, one day to record guitars which ended up being out of time and i had to sample and rebuild my own guitar playing wisper/shouted vox in some parts (cos’ of the neighbors) what a beautiful disaster. why would i want this reviewed, flaws and all? to show that in the end the passion i had was the most important part sure it’s as d.i.y.
/ raw as you can get and it killed my passion for six years but, i’m no ego maniac and if i could have had help, i wonder what could have been maybe in the end i could generate enough buzzz to make something truly great the next time as i am now willing/ to try again (i have a great second albulm idea by the way all i ask is that you listen to this with headphones (as that’s how it was mixed, another novice mistake) and max out the volume, like i said good or bad any reviews will be posted and hopefully can generate some buzz to help me recessatate my dream of making a great record i would be honored if you did this thank you,i know alot of us here are musicians and reality hit us kike a ton of bticks like most i would like for people to know that it exsist. www.myspace.com/hardwaremusic [;)]

p.s.
flawed and real, fate not yet sealed pathetic ? maybe yet just can’t give up on my industrial baby

Humiliation is a decent number. A good KMFDM vibe off it.

I think the songs would clearly benefit from better mixing and all that. I can’t offer much technical advice as I have no practical experience in production but I think better blending of the distinct parts within the songs and improved vox recording (and clearer samples) would do the songs more justice.

I’d be interested in hearing more.

Squeeze the trigger stands out nicely to me. but if I may suggest, you have 3 catchy riffs running through this song that all stop at some point or another. At .35 seconds that pipe sounding riff kicks in and then stops at 1:07, and another riff starts with the samples from Robocop, until 2:24, when the pipey sounding riff starts again…and then at 3:24 to about the 4:00 mark, you have a keyboardy riff… I would suggest don’t lose any of these riffs while any one of the other riffs are playing. just bury the other riffs so they are not so prominent, while the riff you want to showcase is playing loudly up front. This way when you segue back and forth between the riffs it won’t sound so cut and paste, you will just be bringing out a buried riff while burying a different riff.
Also, “Stupid Children” is a decent track musically, but that vocal standout about “pull the trigger you won’t be missed” is fucking horrible and makes me embarassed for you! [;)]
just my two cents…

I really dig that “Humiliation” track. It sounds a bit like Arsenal meets Ministry which is a good combination. Dig the vocal distortion too!

destructo,
I knew you had said you were from tulsa, but looking at your pics on myspace, I’ve met you before. Back in the day at the Ikon, perhaps. The music sounds pretty good, definitely raw, but tons of potential. Let me know if you ever play live anywhere, or need a trashy bass player.

BTW, remember Jakob?

yeah, i remember jakob, were you in that band ?
