"The band was officially formed in 2001, although the material for the first album, Welt dates back to the mid-nineties, having been held up due to legal trouble with American Records. Welt was actually originally the title of the group (an acronym of “When Everyone Learns Truth”), until it was discovered that in the interval it had been taken by a Californian punk band. Al Jourgensen was also originally involved (who had the then band’s name tattooed in anticipation of the project), and only one track he collaborated on has been leaked to the public, titled “Noreen”. The music of that song later became industrial metal group Ministry’s “The Fall”, on their 1996 album Filth Pig. "

so i am a bit confusted. i get the idea that Al was supposed to be involved with what we now know as ohgr’s solo work and that he was getting together songs for it quite a while ago. this is the first i’ve heard of this (or this track).

i love the ohgr solo stuff.

i love the ohgr solo stuff.

The history of the WELT project is long and complicated. Basically though, it was originally Al and Ogre. “Noreen” is the only recorded output of that collaboration.
Later, Ogre kept the name WELT but partnered with Mark Walk instead. Before the album could be released, they were forced to change the project’s name to Ohgr. They kept “WELT” as the album title, though.
There’s probably more to it than that, but there’s your nutshell.

hey revco speaking of dsots demos do you have full demo of eureka pile?

I don’t…I don’t think it was ever released.

i mean i have full boot of leaked dsots tape (that’s called “demo” for some reason) it has all the songs + edit of bad blood, and extended versions of step (which is great) and nursing home (not that great but good) and supermanic soul with samples. the problem is that eureka pile is cut shorts, it doesn’t even clock up to 1 minute.
