note to board: prongs.org shirt would be great for local shows of users of this board. you would know a fellow user by his shirt - and you could say “whats up” or look at him/her from across the room and say “man, that dudes a freak. i ain’t talkin’ to him.”
[:P]
I’ll be wearing my Sabbath t-shirt.
Actually, screw the description. I’ll be looking like this:
But without the hat. Or the squirrel.
i’ll keep an eye out for you rev.
you have your tickets yet?
what time you think ohgr will start? i’m thinking 10ish.
I’ll be buying at the door, too.
If doors are at 7:00, then the opener will probably go on 8ish. I’m thinking Ohgr’ll be on between 9-10. I’m sure it’ll be closer to 10:00.
So how was it?
Good. I recommend it to any fan of Skinny Puppy or Ohgr. Very old school in it’s presentation.
Met Slacklove. A nice guy, but we didn’t talk long. I think he was hanging around outside between sets, but frankly I didn’t feel like being out in crummy weather.
American Memory Project was really cool. I bought the DVD.
Skabdriver was the local opener. They need to concentrate on hooks and melodies and less on image - that’s the lesson Alice Cooper always gives to shock-rock type bands, and it certainly applies here.
great show. had a blast. i also would recommend the show to anyone. met ohgr after. i also got to talk to justin (drummer) for a bit - very nice guys. both were very humble. enjoyed meeting rev. i took quite a bit of video. I will post later.
Nice audio quality!
Did you get any video of him wearing the weird melting man costume?
yea. i’ve got one of him in the suit. but its really hard to tell what it is because of the lighting. i also have two of American Memory Project. i was standing to the left and was able to get them playing and the screen to the right of them.
my picture of ohgr and I came out blurry. which sucks.
wow, was that your phone you used to record that? amazing sound quality.
no - it was my still camera (Canon PowerShot SD750). I’ve got a total of about 8 videos. YouTube crushes them so bad. I’ll try to encode them and host them on my site so you guys can get the full effect.
Now that some time has passed since seeing this show. I’d like to tell everyone here that they really need to see this guy. I held back from commenting more about it because I was aware that I might still be in the mindset of all of the excitement.
There were some amazing moments… at one point oHGr grabbed a handful of feathers and started letting them “blow” into the audience. He did this a few times. It was awesome. Another thing he did was right after he took off the “melting man” suit he had a small mask on and just started acting… “wierd”. You know like ohgr. Anyway, he started grabbing people’s cameras and took pictures of himself. Hell I got so caught up in the moment I almost threw my camera to him - but didn’t - because that would be fucking foolish. Someone at Litany posted their picture that ohgr took of himself.
Everyone MUST see this show if you can. It was better than his previous solo shows. You’ll get to meet him at the merch booth. he is very polite. and graciously will sign anything for you, take a picture with you and grin at you while you tell him dumb shit (like i did - ha).
Go see this show!!!
Here you go guys. 12 clips. 2 of American Memory Project, 10 of ohGr.
