its a rob zombie horror movie. “devils rejects” came on IFC HD tonight so i started googling while i was watching and wound up finding this.

my bad. i got there from googling the movie i was watching, then trying to figure out who the main guy was, then saw that he was in Repo! The Genetic Opera with ohgr, then went to ohgr’s imdb page… etc. i guess i left that surf session thinking zombie.
zombie’s movies (after watching devils rejects last night) defiantly have a “style” to them. devils rejects almost seemed like a Texas Chainsaw (original) ripoff. and the way he gives off that “brutal killing” thing reminded me of Texas Chainsaw. as i’ve told you guys before halloween 1 is my favorite horror movie of all time, so maybe i’m a bit biased about zombie. i don’t know. there were some good parts in his movies, but then they seem to go south real fast for a scene or two.
I thought House of 1000 Corpses was awful. I like the concept on paper, a horror movie based on the stories teenagers tell to scare each other, like you see on sites like weirdnj.com (if you go to the end of that old road there’s an abandoned insane asylum where they did horrible experiments and now there’s a family of albino cannibals living there!), but the execution sucked. Dude couldn’t figure out if he was making Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 or Suspiria or Rocky Horror or what.
I loved Devil’s Rejects. It helps to see it as death-wish style revenge movie rather than a outlaws on the run movie.
Hated Halloween. Almost turned it off after 5 minutes.

yea rev. lemme point out that when i said Halloween 1 i was referring to John carpenter’s. i only watched zombie’s halloween on a dvd someone loaned me. i did like the revenge factor in rejects. but the whole thing with the fucked up face guy stepping in at the end (i thought) just put the nail in the coffin (pun intended) on the fact he was ripping of texas chainsaw. in fact, i pretty much walked out of the room at that point. i think i even said out loud to my dog “give me a fucking break”. heh.
Well of course it’s meant to be similar to Texas Chainsaw… isn’t it one of his fav movies, he would have to put some sort of Homage in there.
