Didn’t somebody post awhile back on the Danzig thread about how Danzig would wear a shirt that said “I am awesome” or something along those lines? I think this is pretty much proof of that.

I see nothing wrong with that photo. Just a dude picking up some supplies in a surplus Tshirt. What’s the big deal?

Some people think it’s funny that Mr. Darky Dark Darkness has cats. I don’t.
But when you’re Danzig-level famous, you’ve gotta know people are going to recognize when you go out, so wearing your own t-shirt comes off as a bit douchey.

I guess no matter how old people are they never grow the fuck up and realize musicians are normal people sometimes too and have lives and yes buy fucking cat litter. What a shock!

And I think it’s cool he’s wearing his own shirt. I do that shit too so yes grmpy you are right on that count. Why not wear his own shirt? I’m sick of musicians being expected to be so humble about their work.

Really, the humor is Danzig really does take himself too seriously. And, as his face can tell you, he really needs to…stop that…

Really, we find it funny but it’s obvious that if he knew it was taken, and people found it amusing, he’d be so pissed off.

Thank you. It’s funny because Danzig is a giant douche and here he is being douchey in an everyday situation because every day gives him a chance to be douchey. He’s all Danzigged out with his black clothes and black hair and pasty skin and he has a shirt (probably only because Albertson’s won’t let him in without one) with the Danzig skull.

The skull is symbolic. It says, “Yes, that’s right! I’m Glenn Danzig, Bitch!!! Take my picture! It’ll last longer!”

It’s also funny because all of us are staring at the grocery bag trying to identify what else is in there so that we can make fun of that too.

I totally agree with you; musicians should not be fucking humble.

You should go out there and be proud of what you make if you are going to put it out there. Otherwise, why fucking make it and put it out there? If you were humble, you wouldn’t release it or do anything with it in the first place.

I hate that false modesty, humble act. Don’t get me wrong, noone likes an ego maniac. But those artists who spend shitloads of money and time on promoting and releasing their music just for others to hear really need to cut the crap if they’re going to go around acting like ‘oh, my music’s nothing special, it’s not great, I don’t know, but buy all my records or something’.

Or maybe that’s part of the charm, and not grasping this concept is the reason I am have very little opportunity for sexytime [:P]
