Not a bad rendering of So What although Al’s voice is in shreds & I’ll never endorse this line-up (scoff @Campos doing Barker basslines)…if ur not an old fart stuck in da past like me, could see how those who went enjoyed it~
I’m a Luxa/Pan fanboy with the best of them, but it’s not like the guy for Nirvana is subbing in Primus.[/reply]
I listened to “So What” and the bassline sounded the same to me. I get being gay for Barker, but . . . soundwise I don’t see what the big stink is.
And, yeah, I’ve watched a few choice cuts from this show and Al looks better and more invigorated than I’ve seen him in almost 20 years. If this is a sign of things to come, I say bring it on!
Barkers bass stands out more on the RevCo stuff. I love how his bass sounds on LFG, and his lines. But, I don’t identify anything on the Ministry stuff that I can really point to as his signature sound or style as a bass player.
Just saying, subbing Campos for Barker isn’t like subbing the guy for Everclear for Geddy Lee.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
That’s the first comment anyone has ever made to actually make me feel compassion for RUSH fans. That Art Alexakis (I think that was his name) was such a giant tool. I really wanted to kick him in his stupid face.

What’s even funnier, I wasn’t even referring to Art, just whoever their bass player is. I also get this band confused with Goo Goo Dolls.
Watching “Keys to the City” live is like watching Flava Flav do a solo concert, where he just yammers ocassional hype over the top of an old CD copy of “Fear of a Black Planet”. Inspiring!

Yeah, it’s pretty dumb having that vocal track on there and then just shouting out “Let’s Go Hawks!!!” here and there.
It almost looks like he’s looking to the audience like they expect them to know and sing the song. Well, I even like and own the album (which puts me apart already from 95% of the attendees) but I sure don’t know any of the words.
If they wanted to get everyone involved in a rally sing-along, they should have just posted the lyrics on the overhead screen and let the crowd join in.
I like the crusty bass and guitar sound of that one live.
But, yeah, playing over the CD track . . . . pretty lame.

Yep!
If he’s gonna embarrass himself with that trite garbage then at least do one of ur classics from the early 80s…
He could’ve mimed to his own awesum vocal track of old (when he actually crooned in a dignified manner).
Honestly think his voice is so fucking shot, he can’t touch anything from his catalog dating back to before 1987.
