“On their debut self-titled EP, NYC alt-rockers Nursing Home deliver a powerful blend of hypnotic riffs, cutting-edge electronics, and crushing hooks. Drawing from equal parts Nine Inch Nails, Black Sabbath and Massive Attack, the trio has achieved a sound that, while steeped in 70s and 90s rock nostalgia, retains a sharp 21st century edge. These tracks recall–and will perhaps rekindle-- a time when the terms “alternative” and “indie” were not completely synonymous.”
So I release shite and everyone jumps all over it with comments, then I release quality and the board is silent! Fuck y’all I am going back to shite motherfuckers!
What are you talking about? Everybody gushed over your video and song. I haven’t had an opportunity to listen to your ep, so I’m not silent cause it sucks. I’m silent cause I don’t know.
Late,
grmpysmrf
Haha “gushed”. Yes I was talking about the EP. Stream it fuckers!
Hey, Brother! Sorry for the lag.
I hadn’t gotten around to listening to it before, but I just gave it a try.
“Car Crash LIfe” and “Carousel” were the only two that I hadn’t heard before. I liked both of them. I like the way that Carousel builds in texture and intensity and kind of flows along. I don’t know much about genres or whatever, but it’s a very moody and introspective piece, I think. I like songs that are not obvious and in-your-face about the thematic material (Get Up Get Out and Vote, haha). I prefer stuff that’s more puzzling and mysterious and this certainly hits that. Almost psychedelic in nature if that makes any sense. I even like how the weird electronic effects tie in (I usually hate electronic music). This song actually blends the traditional instrumentation with the computerized gimmickry in a very organic way.
Anyway, I think you would like this song . . . . Yours reminded me of it for some reason. I guess the blending of organic and “industrial” elements and using the percussion to carry the song . . .
I used to be majorly into these cats – GROTUS: “Brown”

Thanks for the feedback! I am forwarding all feedback to my bandmates so they’ll be happy to hear about this.
That band GROTUS is really cool…will be checking out more…happy to be compared to them.
More to come…the next step for us is getting this thing out there to labels, blogs, magazines etc. to drum up as much press and spread the word as much as possible.
And yes I’ll be contacting 13th Planet along with basically any other relevant avenue, but not with a naive mentality that will allow me to be screwed over by the “pros”.
Hey guys so for a limited time I am making the Nursing Home EP free to download on our bandcamp site. Suggested donation is $5 but it’s set so you can pay whatever you want:
I used to have a GROTUS t shirt…
…waaay back in the day.
An article on the Nursing Home EP has appeared on NYC entertainment website Broadway World:

That’s the next step still working on press.

Getting people to listen to new music that has not been third-party-approved by online press etc. is like pulling teeth from a toddler that is still teething
So ugh… is that your dick on the front cover?
Well, I don’t hate it and I’m not embarrassed for you so that’s a big step in the right direction.
PCP- it’s good I think this was the video song right? I think it’s mixed a little high with the vox a touch louder than they should be. I recognize a few ACS noises in this song. but over all the best thing I’ve ever heard you create.
car crash life- better mix, your vocals are decent even if your lyrics are insipid. (although I do like your delivery on your “pull the trigger man” lyric)
Tokyo Innuendo- meh, sound like you’re trying too hard to be manson… but if it makes you feel any better I’d say with this song you do a better manson impersonation than the man himself has done in a long time.
Carousel- unfortunately I think this is your weakest song on your EP. which is really unfortunate because with this song I think you are really trying to be yourself and find and use your own voice. about the only redeeming quality in it is the music from about 3:00 onward. I actually really liked it from the 3:00 minute mark until the end when you started those silly studders that end the song. You may want to think about scrapping this song and building a new song around the last minute and a half of the song.
nothing but honest from me and you didn’t even make me troll you.
<tear> our little voidy is developing some skill.

^ Thanks for the track-by-track review!! There are no ‘ACS sounds’ in “PCP” I assure you…
