The Birds is a great film, my favourite Hitchcock after Rear Window.
The piano I liked. I would have put more guitars during the assault scene; heavier, drone rhythm guitar. The assault is 2 and half mins so I would lay in the guitars toward the end before Mitch comes to the rescue to evoke more “doom” as it were for the lady; that maybe she wouldn’t be saved and was literally going to be plucked to death. But I’m not a musician as such.
The Simpsons take on The Birds is good too. Only saw the episode again about a year ago, had not seen it for about 10 years previous, so I could only appreciate it fully the last time. It was one of those episodes were they make Homer out to be a real jerk moreso than just dim-witted.
dude i’ve got hours of this kinda stuff on a 4-track i did back in the early 90s. mostly to audio clips i got off the TV at the time. Jerry springer, COPS, and television evangelists. i’d stay away from mainstream videos and movies - especially ones that are so burned in peoples’ mind.
if you want constructive criticism i’d say your aural spectrum is waaaaaay too wide. Emulating analog synth sounds with a movie that was filmed 20 years before just doesn’t match. and the same “audio chaos” doesn’t change the whole time she’s attacked.
Thanks for the feedback. We were trying to just score bare bones what is there in the scene and not add something to that wasn’t there. As for the “chaos” Noise portion not changing, that’s false. You’ll notice that each time she opens the door, all but one of the instruments drop out to leave a pure piercing tone.
