Haha, it’s been nine years since I took a drink or did any drugs. I get it’s not everyone’s path, but I’m pretty proud that I’ve been able to walk it for so long.
Congrats, man! My dad is on his 7th year off of booze and hard drugs and I got a couple friends who are on the sober wagon, though one of them decided to get engaged during his stint in rehab. I don’t know how severe the struggle can be from my own personal experience since I hardly ever drink, but I come from a long line of addicts and I’ve seen it from some of my friends, my dad and his friends, some uncles and a couple girls I dated. It looks like it gets pretty shitty at the end of the road, but I’m glad you were able to battle your demons and win. I’ll have to make a toast with a smoothie or something.
awesome! props to you. my cousin is sober and since I got to know him recently, I’ve been introduced to that whole new world of sober lifestyle that he and many of his friends have. much much credit, 9 years is awesome!
