[url “http://www.theninhotline.net/news/permalink/1390059140”]Previously unreleased Coil remixes of NIN out on vinyl, CD When going through his DATs, Coil’s Danny Hyde came across earlier versions of remixes that Coil had done for Nine Inch Nails. Through the efforts of members of [url “http://www.echoingthesound.org/”]a great online music community, a free [url “http://darkcircleroom3.blogspot.com/2012/11/nine-inch-nails-uncoiled-flac.html”]digital release of these remixes happened a little over a year ago. This garnered enough attention that Mr. Hyde was approached by the famed experimental electronic label [url “http://coldspring.co.uk/”]Cold Spring records, who compiled the most compelling of the remixes into an LP release - these tracks have been remastered, and an additional Eraser remix, located after the previous release, is included in the track listing.

Today, pre-orders have gone live for the [url “http://store.coldspring.co.uk/index.php?route=product%2Fproduct&product_id=4069”]digipak CD, [url “http://store.coldspring.co.uk/index.php?route=product%2Fproduct&product_id=4070”]vinyl LP, and a [url “http://store.coldspring.co.uk/index.php?route=product%2Fproduct&product_id=4071”]limited edition of 500 spattered black/brown color vinyl.
Last week, [url “http://toiou.org”]thisoneisonus announced a re-pressing of the critically acclaimed 3 DVD set [url “http://toiou.org/store/another-version-of-the-truth-3-dvd-set/”]Another Version of The Truth. If you’re not familiar, AVOTT is a fan-made video compilation consisting of two Lights in the Sky concerts - the fan-filmed Las Vegas, The Gift - a fan-edited concert video made from band-released high-definition footage, and a bonus disc with over 3 hours of extras, available in limited quantities as a triple DVD digipak. Just ordered the ltd vinyl and CD of uncoiled. [cool] The DVD is also excellent. I managed to get the single disc edition during the first run.

The digital release was too much of an academic experience for me to actually purchase (a lot of almost identical mixes), but it’s cool that they’re doing this.

The CD/vinyl leaves off the redundant mixes.

Broken certainly is the most “Macho metal” out of the catalog.

This one does have a mix of Gave Up which was off of that album.

Doesn’t ship for another month! Damn. I was looking forward to hearing this thing asap.

Guess I’ll just have to pull out some old school NIN in the meantime.
