also saw them in 91 at lollapalooza and on the ritual tour. they were good then.
but i saw janes on that last tour they did (maybe two years ago) that ended early or dramatic or whatever. saw them at the fox here in atlanta - 10th row. but they played for 45 mins then left.
Yeah, they are playing a 3 day festival, which I live about 2 miles from, in July.
I’d presume they will play on the same day. A day ticket is €100, a 3 day ticket €200, but the other bands announced for the festival (except maybe Blur and Nick Cave) are pure and utter shite. I have a sneaking suspicion however that if the Faith No More reunion goes ahead they will also play this festival. If I get to see NIN, Jane’s Addiction and Faith No More all in one day I will be a very content man indeed.
Yeah, went to see NIN there in 2006 along with Bauhaus and Peaches. As a die-hard NIN fan I wanted to see Trent at least once during my lifetime.
I was bummed that it was in an ampitheather, because really, who wants to sit down at a NIN concert? [:)] Still, the lights and theatrics from NIN were great.
It’s NIN and Jane’s Addiction together, I say do whatever it takes to see them.
I’m going to at least one of these shows. Hopefully two. The nin site says it’s going to be much more than just three bands touring together, suggesting some collaborations. That would be amazing to see any kind of collaboration with Trent/Tom/Perry/Dave/Robin/Boots.
I might check this out, haven’t seen NIN since the Bowie Outside Tour in '96. This would be my third time seeing Jane’s (Lollapalooza '91 and '04). I saw NIN at the '91 show, too, for all of 1-1/2 songs, Sin and half of Terrible Lie (when Trent decided to destroy the stage and walk off!).
Picked up pre-sale pit tickets at 5:15 (start time for pick up was 3:30 pm). Went to nin.com entrance where they let us in the venue, but not in the pit. I’m happy we didn’t show up at 3:30 to pick up the tickets because we stood in the hot sun (90 deg F) from 5:15 until 6:00 pm when they let us in the pit (in the shade).
Beer $10.00 - $12.00, Mixed Drink $8, Water $4
Street Sweeper sounded ok from outside.
Venue seemed to be sold out, but people had issues getting into the venue due to traffic and the number of people lined up outside the gate. Sound was good from the back of the pit at center stage. Lighting was hung low across the stage and is not what was on the Lights In The Sky tour.
NIN played for 85 minutes. They played some of their normal live trax and some surprises. One notable live track was not played. At one point, TR jumped down between the stage and barricade and handed the mic over to the fans and let them sing. He also threw several items out into the audience. No encore.
JA played for about 85 minutes also. Been Caught Stealing did not translate very well live - at least tonight it didn’t. It seemed like PF took MDMA before going on stage because he kept telling us that he loved us. Maybe this is normal for him - I hadn’t seen him live before tonight - I have no reference point. Two song encore. There is one song I wish they would have played that they didn’t.
Shirts are $35. The cloth weight is a bit thin - thinner than what I think it should be. Many designs to choose from.

Other than BCS can you remember what other songs from Ritual were played? I remember seeing some live footage of Jane’s circa ‘Strays’ and it seemed a bit pedestrian but still I haven’t seen them live myself so will go this summer.
I’m going to see the tour in London, and I can’t express how excited I am that Jane’s doesn’t seem to be playing anything from Strays. What a terrible fucking album.
Jesus, the set list from West Palm Beach was ridiculous.
Home
Somewhat Damaged
Last
Piggy (Nothing Can Stop Me Now)
Metal
Heresy
The Becoming
I’m Afraid of Americans
Mr. Self Destruct
The Fragile
Gone, Still
The Way Out is Through
(+5 or 6 staples)
Those are all rarities to some extent and set is a wet dream for NIN fans. Way to fucking go out. 2 songs he’s never played (IAOA!, Metal), a song that’s only been played once in America (Last!) and many that have only been played a handful of times or only during one tour. Way to reward your fan base for following them all those years (wink, wink AL).
I’ll be going to the show in Irvine on the 20th[:)]
Street Sweeper: Super-short set. Good enough that I’ll be buying the album when it comes out.
NIN: Don’t remember the whole setlist, but it was awesome hearing Metal. Saul Williams came out and did backup on Survivalism, then they played a poor choice from his album. They had to pick the dullest, slowest song for their special guest? Not my favorite NIN show, but still good.
JA: I’ve always been indifferent to them. The crowd ate it up though, and that Perry Farrel sure knows his way around a stage. They played every Jane’s song I actually know, so I was satisfied.
EDIT: I realized I could just google NIN’s setlist, so I did. It was:
