I forgot I met Steve-O once. He was so fucked up he couldn’t stand without swaying and stumbling all around and his eyes looked totally blank. It was funny.
One time i got called on stage durign a jim rose show in NJ… I forget the whole point, well actually i don’t… the point was that under extreme pressure anybody will do what an authority figure tells them to do. So he called me on stage… said get on your knees… then he goes “put your hands together” so i clapped… for some reason that’s what i thought he meant and jim goes “is that how you pray in church asshole” or something or other… mind you this is back 9 years ago… anyway after the show jim was hanging around. so i go up and say hi… he goes “hey i recognize you from somewhere… are you famous” and then we both laughed and had a decent conversation for 15 minutes…
and that is my story
Oh yeah, when I worked at Subway for a short stint I served Beth Ditto from the Gossip. She was real nice and had me pile a shit-ton on mayo on her sandwich. Seriously, it must have been over 16 tablespoons. Their guitarist, Brace Pain was a dick though, walking around Olympia looking like Joey Ramone too cool to talk to anyone without tight pants and black hair.
Another encounter I forgot to mention was Dave Matthews, who I almost ran over with my bike. I was hauling ass down the sidewalk, turned the corner and would have ran him right over had I not been quick on the brakes. The look of sheer terror on his face was priceless.
Later I ended up serving him at the hot dog joint where I was working part time. He was a nice enough guy and tipped very well. Can’t stand the mans music though!
