My annual post regarding this, though this time a bit late, I admit, as we’re in the second round.
I don’t see any team which is matched up to the quality of the Hawks right now. They are doing very well. All their lines are great and score well.
Hard to get excited about these playoffs for me personally…the strike dampened my spirits…the season is just to shortened…if it had been several games it would be different but it was more than half the fucking season…
The strike actually made the season shorter - this wasn’t a bad idea. Seen here at a Chicago restaurant.
While I don’t like them, I think it’s the Pens season.

The lockout sucked. I didn’t feel like I got my hockey fix this season cause of it, even though they jammed in a buncha games into the season. Almost resembled a baseball schedule. It was ridiculous.
Despite the lockout attendance was up 2%. So all the fans that were whining about holding out or forgetting the nhl all together, probably didn’t lol. Oh well. I was rooting for the Isles, Taverez is a freak. Also the Habs, but they’re both out of contention. The Hawks look good, I’d bet money on them to win it all.
Fuck, I hope LA doesnt win again. As long as they don’t win I’m happy LOL!
Well, I don’t get to cheer on the Coyotes in the playoffs this season. There was so much hope for this season after our impressive playoff wins against Chicago and Nashville (LA not so much). They seemed to take a step backward this season, and the strike did not help any. They basically ran out of games fighting for the last playoff spot. So, with the Dogs out, I’m just enjoying the other series. The Leafs’ Game 7 choke job was pretty epic.

I’m just anxious to see how the realignment works out next year for my team, the Stars. Because that division is a tough cookie. Teams like the Ducks, Kings seem to have the Stars number.

Yeah, they were leading the west for a time or two (maybe the whole way, this “season” I didn’t keep up as close as I normally do) but the ducks are one of those teams that everyone loves to hate cause “they’re a fag” team with a name like “the ducks.” So, they’re always “Lowely.” Actually, I expect their defense to end up tremendous next year with Scotty Niedermayer having a whole season coaching

IDK I think the Penguins is an even faggier name for a team. But I do think Emelio Esteves and The Mighty Ducks when I hear Anaheim Ducks lol. But that chuckle is quickly replaced with groans and frustration when Corey Perry is ripping you a new one.
Looks like it’s gonna be an Orginal Six clash for the Cup. Bruins vs Hawks. What a goodie!
In other news my Stars got a whole new look. One I think is beyond ugly. I mean look at this. Who thought it would be a good idea to slap a big ass ‘D’ on top of a star? Looks they put as much effort into this design as Bettman did for the game of Hockey lol. Really fucking atroucious. Now i get the pleasure of looking at this everytime i go to games. I was looking to buy a new jersey too… I’m screwed.
I think they look good. Certainly better than the older design with the star and dallas written in the middle. I like green to white ratio on both jersey’s too. I think you’re being too critical, man. They’re good looking sweaters!

It’s like Starbucks meets Hockey lol. But yea, the color scheme isn’t that bad, it’s the big retarded logo that bothers me.
Before they unvieled the new look, they hinted that it would be a “back to the roots” type of look, referring to the days of the old North Stars before they moved to Dallas, which i think is a dumb move, probably decided by some old hockey fart… teams these days are cluttered with old throwbacks, from baseball to football,
I wish they would just stick to living in the present and thinking about the future rather than “reliving the old days”. I mean the Stars won a Cup in Dallas, fuck what they did in Minnesota as the North stars. It did get lots of negetaive feedback from the fans as well. The Stars facebook page is cluttered with negative comments about it, it’s pretty funny. Maybe they can do a quick redo on the logo before the season starts up again!

I guess personal preference. I don’t think the star is that bad but I’m not gonna argue with legions of diehards. They would know better than I.

Maybe it will only be around for a season if the fans hate it that much. then again I know many fans weren’t happy with the new Ducks jerseys and colors when Disney sold the team but they are still using them. Maybe the fans will just have to suck it up.

When you win a combined total of 52 games during a season that had only 48 regular season games, and lose as many games during the regular season as you did in the playoffs…it was just a matter of when and not if.
That’s true though there have been many teams who have lead the points tally going into the playoffs only to lose in the first round…
That and teams coming back from being down 3 games is more common than before where it was almost impossible.
