Newbie alert

Hi-ya!

Newbie here. Lurker for about three or four months (hey, we’re all guilty of it at some point).

Aaah…guess a standard intro is required. Couldn’t hurt:

I’m 29. From New Zealand. Got into Ministry about five or six years ago (late bloomer. didn’t like them to begin with). I guess you could say I’m more of a fan of classic stuff. Post Filth Pig material hasn’t moved me much, but I actually think that Houses Of The Mole was a return to form. Which would probably put me in the minority-sorority here, judging from the posts I have read anyway. Loved Warp City and WKYJ! Also glad that P Barker has left. Raven is far superior. More grunt. Ha ha.

Other faves apart from Ministry would be Killing Joke, Melvins, My Bloody Valentine, Flaming Lips, Jesu, Cocteau Twins, Eno, Skinny Puppy, Butthole Surfers, Boards Of Canada, Aphex Twin and Sonic Youth.

Listen to heaps of ambient, dub and electronica!

Is that ok?

hey, welcome aboard! dont be afraid to post.

and i loveee electronic and ambient music. my favorite cd of all time is final’s “solaris” and my 2nd favorite cd of all time is dead voices on air’s “new words machine” - both of which can be considered ambient i suppose. [cool]

Also glad that P Barker has left. Raven is far superior.

ouch.

Houses Of The Mole was a return to form.

cool… you’re right, not many people here share that opinion.

i would also like to know what is meant when everybody says that hotm is return to the ‘glory days’ or something…

When everybody says it’s a ‘return to the glory days’?? Huh? Where have you been for the last two years?

The impression I get is that it is regarded as their worst. Excpet for on the Piss Army where everybody loves heavy metal.

welcome!

Yeah, welcome. Always glad to meet a fellow Cocteau Twins fan. And it’s thanks to Houses that I got back into Ministry, so I can’t complain…but Warp City? Really? What about Worthless or WTV?

Yeah ‘Worthless’ and ‘WTV’ both have merit. But tire after a few listenS.

The new album will be along the lines of a George W Bush a thon and what with all this trouble. Man, I dunno. But what did I expect?

FuKK I mean, Great Satan is a cool track, black metal in its happenings and LiesLiesLies has that awesom chug a lug thing going, death metal too all the way. But Rio… kinda drags too and that was what I was afraid of. Don’t like how they’ve revisited Hey Asshole either. It’s like…been there done that and whatever to follow. Too many Bush samples and guitar solos. Fear(Is Big Business) is just a slowed down version of Dead Guy too. FuKK.

Fuck though I’ll end up buying Rio and ditching this shitty copy all in good time, kinda the same with the new Killing Joke if you can dig. Throw that dog a bone ha ha. Lestaways too many shortened nights to.

Rio Grande Blood 2/5
Senor Peligro 4/5
Gangreen 2/5
LiesLiesLies 4/5
Fear (is big business) 3.5/5
Yellow Cake 5/5
Palestina 4/5
Ass Clown 2/5
Khyber Pass 5/5
Great Satan 1.5/5

where is that info from?

is it leaked already?

Wow, its leaked already?

If someone has it and can upload it to rapidshare or some equivalent, that would be awesome!

Welcome Amlux!

Yeah Madonna’s new record was a return to form too.

Fuck Raven. I’m sick of this Killing Joke bitch taking Barker’s place.

Yeah I listen to ambient music too…like this one song I heard was great they took the gentle plop of a turd when it hits the water and added delay and reverb and it’s really really chill…

guess i’ll add my 2 cents as the new guy.

Lets see I’m a big fan of Ministry and pretty much all the side projects, especially Lard and RevCo. I’m also a big big big fan of WaxTrax! and have a smallish collection of their releases, although the best is the first 13years box!..money well spent!Pretty much got into it by accident when I saw a new CD (The Mind Is a Terrible Thing To Taste) sitting in my brothers room and when he also got LORAH I was hooked for life! Then thru all that I got onto RevCo and have the complete collection of all their CD releases.

I’m a fan of pretty much all Ministry stuff right through from Twitch to Houses, although I admit I’m not a Huge fan, but Its a good Cd none the less! And I’m looking forward to the new Ministry and RevCo releases, they might not be the same as the “good old days” but Al has got tallent and I’ll be good to hear!

Cheers

Welcome aboard.
